SONGWRITING FESTIVAL—Destin Area, Scenic Highway 30A
If you are a music fan, you may realize that songwriting is one of the highest forms of music. In that case you won’t want to miss top musicians to showcase their artistry of songwriting along the beaches of South Walton, Florida.
The 8th annual 30A SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL has announced the initial line-up for the 2017 celebration of singers and songs. The festival will feature performances from artists JOHN PRINE, CHEAP TRICK, DR. JOHN & THE NITE TRIPPERS, AND SHAWN COLVIN. Featuring 175 songwriters, you’ll choose from 225 performances to be held along Florida’s Scenic Highway 30A January 13-16, 2017.
Also confirmed are Parker Millsap, Drivin N Cryin, and Motel. Featured artists in venues in the evenings on 30A include John Fullbright, Over the Rhine, JoJo Hermann (Widespread Panic), Chely Wright, Murray Attaway (Guadalcanal Diary), Sarah Lee Guthrie, Matthew Sweet, Tom Gray (The Brains), Shawn Mullins, Peter Case, John Gorka, Nicole Witt, and Farewell Angelina.
“The talent pool of songwriters is vast and prodigious” says co-Producer Russell Carter. “And a new development is Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Inductees Cheap Trick will headline the Saturday afternoon stage with their highly melodic guitar pop style. Expect them to rock and reverberate Grand Boulevard to the eastern tip of 30A and back!”
The 30A Songwriters Festival team transforms amphitheaters, town halls, restaurants, theaters, bars and covered patios into unique music venues. These venues range in capacity from 75 to 500 seats indoors and 5,000 outdoors. THE GREATEST SHOW ON SNOW-Deadwood, South Dakota
Still loving the winter and snow sports? Deadwood, North Dakota is an important historical area of the Black Hills with snow.
The greatest Show on Snow returns to Deadwood on January 20-21 as the ISOC Amsoil Championship Snocross Showdown. Deadwood claims to be the wildest town in the west. Consider arriving early or leaving late to explore the entertainment options in Deadwood, including old time casinos reminiscent of the Wild Wild West.
Take a walking tour to the final resting places of Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, and other notable Deadwood characters. However, to learn real life history, check out how the West was really won in gaming halls and saloons. See how Deadwood guests have been entertained since 1876!
Meanwhile, this fifth annual Deadwood Snocross Showdown features 150 plus of the top professional Snocross racers. They will descend in Deadwood for a weekend of high-flying, high-speed, high-octane snowmobile racing.
Finally, you’ll enjoy pros like Tucker Hibbert, Ross Martin, Robbie Malinoski, Jennifer Pare, and Tim Tremblay race in this event. More than 100 top professional SnoCross racers will compete on the snow.
