On the southern edge of the isthmus that forms Maui’s Central Valley, lies a thriving yet tranquil community: Ma’alaea, population 352, plus or minus. This intriguing corner of Maui includes a bustling boat harbor offering excursions that range from whale and dolphin watches to snorkel and snuba adventures to romantic dinner and sunset sails to chartered fishing expeditions. Adjacent to the Marina are the Ma’alaea Harbor Shops, including The Maui Ocean Center Aquarium (voted Maui’s nbr.1 attraction), The Maui Golf and Sport Park for mini golf, water bumper boats, extreme trampoline and rock climbing, and various shops, restaurants, and a gas station.

And then, tucked away off the main roads, on a secluded dead-end road named Hauoli Street (Hawaiian for Happy Street), you’ll find a small community of laid-back direct oceanfront resorts. This is the territory of Ma’alaea Bay Realty & Rentals, where we have the ideal Maui Vacation Rental for you. Our resorts face Ma’alaea Bay straight-on and have widespread, nothing peek-a-boo about them coastline views that extend down to the Makena cinder cone, up the heights of Haleakala, and that sweep out across the bay to the sunken volcanic cinder cone of Molokini Crater and our neighbor island, Kaho’olawe. Superb.

Our condo rental units are in the affordable Makani A Kai, Hono Kai, Kanai A Nalu, Ma’alaea Banyans, Island Sands, Lauloa, Ma’alaea Kai, and Milowai Resorts. They boast full and fully-equipped kitchens, grounds that are perfectly manicured, and ocean front pools and barbecue areas that are meticulously maintained. At each, the parking is plentiful and free, as are cable TV and high-speed internet connections. All resorts have washers and dryers on the grounds or on each floor – and some have them in each unit. Check out the individual resorts for their particular amenities. They each have something unique to recommend them!

On days you crave calm and quiet, stay local!
