The main level centers on an open great room that combines the kitchen, dining table, and living space beneath an open ceiling with exposed beams. A wood-burning fireplace serves as the focal point for the living area. The kitchen is equipped for meal preparation with cookware and utensils, plus major appliances including a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. A starter set of paper products and basic supplies is provided for a short initial period.

For entertainment and downtime, the home includes a game room with a pool table and a second living area downstairs with a large couch and big-screen TV. Additional conveniences include air conditioning, internet access, washer/dryer, television, DVD player, iron/ironing board, and a grill. Towels and linens are provided; hair dryers are not provided.

Dogs are welcome with a nightly pet rent per dog. Parking accommodates a maximum of 4–5 cars parked end to end along a one-way road. In winter months (Nov–March), AWD/4WD and/or chains are recommended due to possible inclement weather. The property has one external security camera mounted near the back roof line, pointed away from the house toward the woods.

Walk into the cabin and you'll immediately be impressed by the open ceiling and beautiful beams - truly a signature of this home. The great room offers an open arrangement of dining table, kitchen, and living area and is a perfect place for your loved ones to gather around the wood-burning fireplace. And there's a second living area downstairs with a huge couch, big screen TV, and a pool table for more fun as a group.

This cabin offers sleeping accommodations on each floor so there's plenty of room for everyone to relax in their own space. On the main level is a King bedroom with a twin and trundle, a Queen bedroom, and a full bathroom. Upstairs is an open loft with a Queen bed and a second bedroom with a King bed and a Juliet balcony. The lowest level has a fourth bedroom with a King bed.

Bear Valley is located in the peaceful mountain community of Fleetwood Falls. Be sure to bring your own fishing gear, fishing licenses, and kayaks & canoes! The New River flows by the entrance of the development and at less than three-quarter of a mile walk away, is a perfect place to kick back in a tube and float the day away, or fly fish to your heart's content. The town of Todd is just a few minute's drive away and offers several great outfitters for river tubing and fly fishing. Boone is just a scenic 20 minute drive away as well, and West Jefferson is only 15 minutes away.

Additional notes:

- CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
- Firewood for the indoor fireplace may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a fire starter for $25 plus tax per night.
- Pet Friendly, dogs are welcome. Pet rent is $25+tax per night for each dog.
- Please note there is parking space for a max of 4-5 cars parked end to end along a one-way road.
- Linen and towels are provided
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided

- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
- This property has on external security camera on the back of the house close to the roof line. It’s pointed away from the back of the the house and looking into the woods. No other cameras are present at the property.

Bear valley is AMAZING. We were a group of 10 and had a wonderful time. We parked 5 cars with no problem in the front. It was more than enough space so we could lounge around. The staff is super sweet and always there to assist! My only advice to other travelers, try to get to this location during the day. The road is very narrow and curvy with no guard rails or lights.

We recently stayed a week a “Bear Valley” cabin. The place was absolutely perfect to spend my birthday week! I loved the vintage feel to the cabin along with the beautiful decor. They went the extra mile to set up several Christmas trees that made the stay even more cozy and special! Upon arrival I noticed everything was very clean which is always a plus! The kitchen has plenty of room to cook in and the house is plenty big enough for a few families. The location is perfect, not too far from Boone or West Jefferson so you get the best of both little towns! I would recommend Bear Valley to anyone!

We had a great time at this house. The leaves were changing for Fall so going on walks in Fleetwood Falls and driving around was nice. We enjoyed the fire table and the sunporch. There was plenty of space for our group to spread out inside the house. We had 4 cars and a trailer and were all able to park easily. We liked several restaurants in West Jefferson and went to Blowing Rock a few times. The house was clean, and the management company was helpful. We plan on renting this home again.

This house is a great place for large family groups. We never felt like we were crowded, and there are multiple places to gather in the house. When we arrived, it was very clean throughout and tastefully appointed. The upstairs living room is open to the kitchen, and I could make dinner and talk with everyone in the living room. The kitchen had everything we needed. The downstairs man room had a sectional, TV, pool table and game table. After the kids went to bed, we all went downstairs and didn't disturb the upstairs sleepers. The sun porch is my favorite place, personally. The porch has a cozy seating area and a long dinner table that seats 10 people. The porch was a nice place to open the windows, enjoy mountain breezes, and have coffee in the morning. It felt like you were in the trees. In the main living area, there is also a table that seats 6. We enjoyed the porch lights and sitting on the lower back deck at night, making s'mores over the fire table. We had a great time tubing the New River. We put in at Cranberry Springs Bridge and got out in front of Fleetwood Falls. The pond in the neighborhood was great for fishing and swimming. Boone and West Jefferson are nearby and have interesting things to do. The house is on a mountain, but the roads are very well maintained and paved. There is plenty of easy access parking in front of the house. It was a great vacation, and we definitely plan to return.

Next Door To The New River

Our friends had a great time at this cabin! Very close to the New River and 20-25 minutes to West Jefferson. This cabin can accommodate a very large group and was very clean. We were able to sit on the porch and had a great view of deer grazing in the woods. We enjoyed the propane fire pit and pool table. The only problem we had was with TV service. We attempted to watch live sports each night after our daytime activities, but the TV Service didn't have normal channels. Other than that it was a great stay.

The photos of this property were perfect. We knew exactly what sort of accommodations we would have. With 10 people we were able to “spread out”. Of course the sun room/porch was utilized the most. We all took advantage of the nearby tubing adventure as well as the community pond/lake. The weather was rather wet but we just wanted to relax anyway. This is a property we would definitely rent again. Thanks!

We were looking for a secluded place for family to get together and do outdoor activities since we've been separated and stuck indoors due to COVID. This property was perfect for us. There was plenty of space for us to spread out and have privacy, yet there were several options for hanging out together. Our two favorites were the lower level porch with the fire pit and rocking chairs and The enclosed porch on the main level for eating together and playing card games. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare food, plus some food storage containers and some spices. There were plenty of towels, blankets and pillows. We loved that there were both a gas and a charcoal grill. As for management and housekeeping, they were great. The place is obviously clean from first inspection, but I thought it noteworthy to share that when I dropped something between the headboard and the mattress and went to retrieve it, there was no dust under the bed. Also, on our first night, two of the lights on the enclosed porch went out. We brought out the lamps from the living room and notified management. The next day, someone came by with replacement bulbs. They took good care of us, and we would definitely recommend this rental. A note: Renters in July and August should be aware that while there is AC in the house, two of the bedrooms don't have AC units and will likely get hot. It was cool during our late June visit, but I could see those rooms getting uncomfortable in late summer.
