Come and enjoy our lovely home in Cape Fear Station, located a few minutes away from the beach and the Shoals Club. Relax and enjoy the outdoors on one of two screen porches. Soak in the peacefulness of this home nestled among beautiful trees.
Enter through a comfortable living room where you can enjoy a movie on the large screen tv, play some games provided with the home, or just sit and relax. The eat in kitchen includes a table that comfortably seats 7, with a quaint built in bench. The kitchen is well-stocked with stainless steel appliances and everything you need to cook meals after a day at the beach. If you prefer to dine outside, enjoy your dinner or a glass of wine and hors d'oeuvres on the screened in porch.
Upstairs are two generous bedrooms, each with a private bath. One bedroom offers a king bed and the other bedroom, two twins and a trundle. Guests can enjoy the privacy of the detached crofter which includes a queen bed and full bath.
As you come in from the beach, shower off in the outdoor shower, which our kids especially love!
We also offer wifi, two 4pass golf carts, a propane grill, kayaks, beach chairs. Temporary membership to the Shoals Club, a quick golf cart ride away, is also available for purchase.

The house & crofter were perfect for our family of 4 plus 2 grandparents using the crofter. Great proximity to East Beach which made popping back and forth to the house so easy. Loved how well stocked and comfortable the house was, absolutely considering rebooking already!

Was the perfect fit for our family of 5 with grandparents. Grandparents enjoyed crofter and main house was perfect for our family with three children. Loved the proximity to Shoals, etc. Clean, updated. No complaints.
Wonderful Stay at Castaway

Our family had a wonderful stay at Castaway. It's such a great house, we felt right at home. It was clean and well stocked. We took full advantage of the screened in porches and took walks on the neighborhood walkways through the woods every evening. The location was perfect for the beach, the club, hiking trails and not far from the market. Really it was exactly what we were looking for. Thank you so much.

We had the most relaxing and special family time here at Castaway. It is such a lovely, cozy home. The porches are wonderful for reading in the mornings. The detached crofter is a fun addition to have a bit of privacy and be up in the trees. Beds and linens were comfortable, and the kitchen was already stocked with lots of delicious salts, spices and condiments. We had trouble locating information on the kayaks, and BHI Services was extremely responsive. I emailed on a Sunday and heard back almost immediately. We so appreciated their attentiveness! The owners of this home have a true gem. The location to the beach is phenomenal. Golf carts worked great. We made some wonderful family memories in the evenings using the provided games, puzzles, and colored pencils. We hope to be back again and again to the magical Castaway! Thank you to the owners and BHI Services!
Charming Cottage Just Right for a Family of 4

We truly enjoyed our stay at Castaway Cottage! Its great location in Cape Fear Station, nicely designed spaces and amenities (2 golf good carts, 2 classic cruiser bikes, comfortable beds, colorful beach towels and other beach gear) allowed us to have a relaxing and fun stay. Just 2 minutes riding to the Turtle Conservancy, East Beach and the Shoals Club allowed us to have everything we wanted around us. The only thing more we could have asked for was WIFI access in the crofter--given the low cellphone coverage in that area, WIFI is especially important. We hope to visit Castaway Cottage again!

This was the perfect house for a girls' weekend. Very clean and comfortable. Enough space for the 4 of us. Easy communication with property managers. We would definitely stay here again!
Beautiful Island, Beautiful Home

We loved Castaway, especially the layout of the house and location. The home is designed such that it is cozy but there is also plenty of room. My parents stayed in the room over the garage and so had privacy but also were close enough to enjoy the grandkids. The bathrooms are large and the kitchen is well appointed and easy to use. Finally, we enjoyed the two screened porches and the deck area that connects the house to the golf cart garage/crofter and is a great staging area for applying sunscreen, etc. The perfect location of the home allowed us to be at East Beach in about two minutes by golf cart but to enjoy the shade of the maritime forest as well. This was our second stay at Castaway and we hope to be back next summer.
Beautiful Location

We love Bald Head Island and have been coming for about 9 years (1-3 times a years) We really enjoyed this home. It is in our top 3!!! The crofter space was a nice bonus. There are two screened in porches and also a community gazebo to enjoy the night time breezes without worrying about the bugs! East beach is our favorite spot and it is close by. You can hear the ocean at night from the porches or if windows are open... The golf carts were the best ones we've had at any rental. The furniture in the living room was very comfortable and clean. The only thing that may be a concern is the Deep bathtub in the master bedroom. I felt a little nervous about climbing in and out of it and I don't have mobility issues... it's just really really deep! The kitchen is quite small but it has a large pantry and everything you need. Air worked great. Amazon Alexa was set up and fun to use. I accidentally unplugged the WiFi for a few hours and caused a mass panic with teenagers because in this location the cell service is very bad. I could not make any calls or use my cell hotspot. With the WiFi working we were able to make WiFi calls and use laptops. I do think there is a problem with the WiFi in the crofter space but we didn't mind because it meant that the teenagers were forced to come in the house and hang out with us.. . The house has so many pretty decorations and new linens and duvet covers. It felt very cozy and clean. The conservatory is nearby with activities and a cute shop. In the summer they have icees and snacks there also. Lovely spot on Bald Head Island. Brandy the property manager always makes our vacations wonderful. Any problems or questions she answers immediately. Thanks for a wonderful stay!!
