Property Description

Maine has Frenchman's Bay, Massachusetts has Nantucket Sound, and Maryland has the Chesapeake Bay!

Enjoy the ever changing panorama of spectacular sunsets, teeming wildlife, graceful sailboats, and impressive ships from a truly wonderful and historic location, Love Point! Located just 4 1/2 miles north of the Bay Bridge, we are 20 minutes to historic Annapolis, 40 minutes to Baltimore and 50 miles to Washington, DC.

This 3BR-2BA ranch is situated on over 1 1/2 acres of land with 200' of shoreline. Common living areas are spacious with 3 seating areas on the main level as well as a large outside deck. There is a dock with a ladder for easy access to the bay which is ideal for boating, fishing and swimming because of its shallow waters and smooth, sandy bottom. Afterwards, soap up and rinse off in the wonderful hot/cold OUTDOOR SHOWER!!

The house has hardwood floors throughout, a cathedral ceiling in the kitchen, family room and many public seating areas. Contemporary fabrics mix happily with antiques and hand painted furniture which the owners have collected on the eastern shore and abroad. The basement in finished in a Spanish style complete with arched doorways and tiled floors.

Most popular is the lighted Trex planked deck with two dining areas, deck chairs and loungers that overlook the vast Chesapeake Bay. The adjacent lot provides a volleyball field and expansive views of the bay, its birds, boats and even bunnies.

The house sleeps 6 to 8 people most comfortably, however, we have a "dormitory" style room in the basement, which would work well for groups attending weddings or family reunions in the area. It also has a ping-pong table, toys and games for all ages.

Linens and towels are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs.

Come and enjoy! You will be delighted and refreshed.

Activities and Special Interests

Located off the west coast of Queen Anne's County, Kent Island sits at the base of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, connecting Maryland's eastern and western shores. The island features an abundance of marinas and restaurants that attract visitors from nearby Annapolis, Baltimore, and Washington DC. Separated from the mainland by Kent Narrows, Kent Island once served as a trading post for the first permanent English settlement in Maryland. The island later developed into a major seafood packing and processing area.

Kent Narrows separates Kent Island from the mainland. The area has lots of seafood restaurants and marinas. It also has lots of outlet stores.

Testimonials

Few things bring me joy and relaxation, as when I first walk through the front door of what I like to call Brassfield House. Standing in the large “great room,” with its cathedral ceiling, looking out onto the waters of the Chesapeake Bay, has wondrous effects on me. I open up to the celebration of life! To me, there is nothing more joyful than sitting with a good book, walking peacefully along a lovely landscape, playing the piano, and especially being near and on the water. No sunset is more beautiful with its mix of dramatic colors than when it is reflected on the shimmering waters of the bay. The house itself surrounds me with its peaceful, homey, and fascinating ambience, its spacious rooms, lightness of being, novel décor, and comfortable furnishings. It is always hard to leave such a haven.
