Property Description

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Main level: Master with queen and private bath with walk-in shower, second bedroom with king, second full bath, sleeper in living room
Upper level: Loft with two twins

Looking for a Valle Crucis riverfront cabin that is peaceful yet still convenient to everything? Welcome to Bridgepoint Cabin, located right on the Watauga River. Whether you want to step off your porch for fishing and wading, or just rock away the hours while listening to the river roll by, this family vacation rental is for you! The convenient single-level living and flat yard are a plus for families with young children and grandparents alike. Best of all, you are still just five minutes from historic downtown Boone and within a few more minutes of Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, the Blue Ridge Parkway and Grandfather Mountain.
As you approach the cabin across the wooden bridge, look to your left and you are likely to see someone taking advantage of the great trout fishing in this section of the river. A glance to the right and you may see one of the grey herons that frequent this stretch – they are fishing too!
No need to give up your river view when going inside – the open living area overlooks the river. On chilly days, enjoy a fire in the custom gas fireplace while relaxing in the comfortable furnishings, or enjoy a movie on the flat screen television. The open kitchen with tiled counters and backsplash makes meal preparation a snap so you can get back outside for more High Country adventures.
Just off the main living area are two wood-paneled bedrooms. The master has a king bed and television in case you like to wake up with the news or weather. The second bedroom has a lovely wood and scrollwork queen bed. For the extra guest there is also a sleeper sofa in the living room.
In the mornings, we recommend stepping out through the French doors to the covered porch with your coffee and settling in on the porch swing while you watch the mist rise off the river. After breakfast, head just a couple miles down the road and visit the original Mast General Store. After that, why not stop in at the little deli and pick up some sandwiches or a slice of one of their great desserts, then pull in at the popular Valle Crucis Park for a picnic. After lunch, the family can choose their activity – enjoy a stroll or bike ride on the paved paths, let the kids play on the swings, or take advantage of another fishing opportunity – the park offers both river access and a stocked pond for the kids to try, unless they prefer trying to catch one of the large bullfrogs! Summer evenings often offer live Music in the Valle there at the park for a little foot-tapping fun.
That evening, back at Bridgepoint Cabin, walk across the yard to the river and enjoy! Feet sore from all the day’s exploring? Just have a seat on the riverbank and soak them in the cool water. There is a shallow section flowing across the rocks where the kids can play, or cast a line into the deeper sections and see if you can catch dinner. There’s nothing like firing up the grill for the evening catch.  Be sure to save time for a soak in the hot tub as well!
If you plan to catch an Appalachian State University Mountaineers football game – that’s right, the ones who were on the cover of Sports Illustrated – or head over to Blowing Rock for Art in the Park or a visit to Tweetsie Railroad, or to the slopes at Appalachian Ski Mountain, Sugar Mountain or tubing at Hawksnest, this cabin provides a great starting point. It is just a short drive to most area attractions and events.
Any time of year, Bridgepoint Cabin in historic Valle Crucis NC is a great home base for your mountain adventures and relaxing retreats.

Bridgepoint Cabin has convenient paved access all the way to the driveway.

Depending on the home, 4WD, chains or sometimes both may be required when visiting the mountains in winter. Access to this home may not be suitable for vehicles with rear wheel drive, limited ground clearance, or motorcycles even during summer months.  We are happy to help you find the home with the access you are most comfortable with, any time of year!
Until confirmed, rates are subject to change without notice.

Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a fire starter for $25 plus tax per night.
Dogs are welcome for an additional rent of $25/night per pet, 2 dog limit.

Testimonials

4 Stars
By Judy On 08/25/2020
We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. Although it was closer to a fairly well traveled road and I was not anticipating that. The river was wonderful and we so enjoyed relaxing on the porch and hearing the water run. We also saw quite a few people fly fishing. The location was perfect for our daily excursions. The decor was cute and the cabin was just the right size for our party of three. We never needed the loft. All in all a great weekend.

Next to the Watauga River, right in front of a bridge, there's nothing better than soaking in a hot tub or sitting by the fire pit after a long day whitewater rafting! Just cozy enough for for your close knit group or family. That comfy cabin feel. Had an issue with an amenity but they were very quick to resolve it! Thanks guys! You made our first AirBnb experience the benchmark to many more we'll have!

HONEYMOON IN PARADISE

From the river in the front yard, to the snow on the ground when we left. We couldn't have asked for a better Honeymoon

PEACEFUL
By Jason On 12/10/2019
What a cozy little cabin. The cabin is exactly how it is pictured. The river backs up to the property and is peaceful to listen to. The hot tub is also an added perk. On the inside, the house is large enough to seat two families--esp with the loft. My two boys, wife and I (and dog) had plenty of space. The evenings were quiet and I also had the best nap I've had in years. I did not bring my rods to fish, but there were a ton of trout hanging out under the bridge. Just very peaceful. We will be back. Thanks to the Blue Ridge staff for being so courteous. Thanks for having us.

By Kristi On 10/23/2019
We had a wonderful time relaxing in the mornings and evenings. During the days we hiked Grandfather Mountain and Linville Gorge. And hiked down Sugar Mountain. What a beautiful location. The hot tub and fireplace were perfect for this mountain getaway!

COZY
By Philip On 06/11/2019
The cabin was cozy and as pictured on the sight. Close to lots of activities for the kids. Overall a wonderful getaway with family. The only thing I would change is the location so close to the road/bridge with children it made me nervous- though we had no issues at all. It was a gorgeous cabin with everything we needed to feel right at home.

EXCELLENT
By Robert On 06/03/2019
We had a excellent stay. Beautiful weather, beautiful views. Close to town but far enough away for a relaxing time. Hot tub was perfect. The pup really loved the river right there.

PEACEFUL AND BEAUTIFUL
By Saralyn On 05/22/2019
The cabin was very comfortable. It is located on a peaceful and beautiful lot just steps away from the Watauga River. The cabin and lot look exactly like the pictures in the rental description. It was centrally located to Boone, Banner Elk, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. And the plus is that it is very pet friendly! We will definitely stay again.

GREAT
By Melissa On 04/01/2019
This was a great cabin we were able to check in early, it was a great location. We enjoyed walking along the creek and even crossed the creek and walked back. A few of us even took the tube out and tubed a little in the river, seeing since we couldn't find any where to go snow tubing. We also took advantage of the hot tub and fire pit. We will definitely rent this cabin every time we want to go to the mountains.
