R&amp;R Chalet is a restored alpine chalet on five acres nestled in Shenandoah County&#39;s western mountains.&nbsp; The chalet sits on a one acre home site with an extensive lawn accentuated by well-groomed mature cedar trees.&nbsp; The extensive lawn provides ample space for outdoor activities and the remaining four wooded acres invite exploration and connection with nature.&nbsp; The woods create a private outdoor living space with a large platform deck, hot tub, gas grill, outdoor dining, and corn hole.&nbsp; The large fire pit invites casual conversations and tall tales in the comfort of Adirondack chairs.&nbsp;&nbsp; Inside, the great room&rsquo;s huge glass doors, windows, and deck create the sense being outside, even when while cozy inside.&nbsp; Access to R&amp;R Chalet is just six steps up to entry level, which makes for easy unpacking and a quick transition to R&amp;R.<br />

Although this property feels remote, Bryce Resort and the small town of Basye are a fun six mile drive further into the mountains. Bryce Resort offers downhill skiing and ice skating in the winter, and lift-access mountain biking, golf, Lake Laura activities in the summer, and casual dining year round at the Copper Kettle Restaurant &amp; Bar.&nbsp; Basye offers several other dining options and amenities, including Burn Barrel tavern (with pool tables, dart lanes, and juke box), Pale Fire Brewing, Smiley&#39;s Ice Cream &amp; Mini Golf, and a Community Store (w/ gas pumps).&nbsp; Basye is your best option if you prefer to avoid stoplights and traffic during your visit, but the larger towns of Mount Jackson (10 miles), Woodstock (21.5 miles), and New Market (17 miles) offer a broader array of dining and shopping options.<br />

FEATURES &amp; AMENITIES:<br />
The open, spacious great room includes a dining area and living room with a stone wood-burning fireplace and above-mantle Smart TV.&nbsp; Two large patio doors open to the spacious deck with fire table and chairs overlooking the front lawn and cedar trees.&nbsp; The side deck is for fixing dinner on the gas grill, dining outdoors, and relaxing in the hot tub.&nbsp; The kitchen is adjacent to the great room and dining area and includes updated appliances, basic cookware, tableware, and a Keurig coffee maker (basic K-cups provided, but please bring your own favorites).&nbsp; The dining area seats six.&nbsp; The main floor includes two bedrooms, one with a trundle bed (two twins) and the other with a king bed, and renovated full bathroom.&nbsp; The spacious loft looks out through the great room&#39;s huge windows, has one queen bed, and an en suite renovated full bathroom. A full-size stacked washer &amp; dryer unit is in the main floor trundle bedroom.&nbsp; Sleeps six comfortably.<br />

The chalet is supplied with bedding (pillows, bedspreads, blankets), fresh bed linens, one towel set per max occupants, one travel-size bar soap per max occupants, two rolls toilet paper per bathroom, two dishwasher tabs, five trash bags, one bath trash bag per bathroom, one paper towel roll, two kitchen dish towels, one travel-size dish soap, and one scrubby pad.&nbsp; We encourage guests with large groups, or who are staying several nights, or who are heavy users of consumable supplies to bring extra supplies or purchase them at the Basye Community Store.&nbsp;<br />

The Smart TV allows guests to log into popular streaming apps, and fast 200+mbps up/down fiber optic WiFi internet is sufficient for everyone to work, stream, and game at the same time.&nbsp;<br />

This is a Self-Check-In unit.&nbsp; You&#39;ll receive check-in instructions seven days prior to arrival (or immediately if booking within seven days) that include the property&#39;s address, driving directions, a unique Key Code, and other important information.<br />

This property has a propane gas grill and hot tub on the side deck, a large fire pit accessible from the side deck, and a propane fire pit/table on the main level deck.<br />

Guests have unlimited access to our pool at our check-in office (2565 Orkney Grade), which is about 5 miles from this property on the way into Basye.&nbsp; Please note that the Bryce Resort pool (Bryce Landing) is private for Bryce Resort members only.&nbsp; See pictures of our (Bryce Mountain Escapes) pool in the unit listing, which is open 9am-5pm, Monday through Saturday between Memorial Day and Labor Day.<br />

Quiet hours after 10:00 pm are strongly enforced by the local community and Sheriff&#39;s deputies.<br />
