The Lutsen area offers everything from miles of hiking and biking trails to the Midwests premier downhill skiing destination Lutsen Mountains. Known primarily as a ski resort, during the summer months and fall you can take a scenic gondola ride up to the summit of Moose Mountain. Once you reach the top, enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Superior and the surrounding wilderness. Staying on the wilderness trail, Cascade State Park is just down the road and features a gorgeous waterfall following a short, easy hike. You are also just a short drive from several North Shore restaurants and quaint, locally-owned shops, including the North Shores first winery and first local coffee roaster. After a marvelous day of adventure on the North Shore, return to Thimbleberry to unwind with the soothing sounds of Lake Superior. Few things are more memorable than falling asleep to the rhythm of one of the worlds largest freshwater lakes dancing on the shoreline.
