Shangri-la was a lovely, comfortable home centrally located on Eleuthera. Our neighbors were delightful and introduced us to the house and property. Lachadra, the property manager, was very helpful and welcoming. (We also rented a car from her company, Cadet Rentals, and were pleased.) Something to be aware of when you visit Eleuthera is that the power grid can be sketchy. We experienced several power outages during our time on the island--we had forgotten about this. We felt fortunate that the layout of the house was open and there were screen doors we could open for ventilation. We kept the bedroom doors closed so the cool air would not escape and this worked out well. I will admit to being a smidge jealous of another neighbor's generator. lol. The house was comfortable and exactly what we needed--highly recommended!

My group of 4 stayed at Shangri-La for a week. The house was very clean, well kept, and the perfect size for our group. We had an issue with the washing machine and when I contacted the owner, she sent someone out the next day. Unfortunately the machine was not fixed but we had plenty of towels to use the rest of the week. The beach was just a short walk across the street and was stunning. I would stay here again!

Our family has stayed at several homes in different parts of Eleuthera (and the Cove and Sky
Beach) over the years and Shangri-La was hands down our favorite. It is located conveniently close to the Governor's Harbour Airport and Governor's Harbour. We have found that this is central on the island and allows us to explore both north and south. Although it is not located directly on the beach, it was so close it might have well as been. This is nice for those beach days when you want to make a three minute walk back to the house for forgotten sunscreen, a hat or maybe just another cold Kalik. The property was perfect for 5 adults...there was enough space that we were not stepping on each other and we spent many hours on the lovely, spacious deck. The home was well equipped with everything we needed. I would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat.

I keep coming back to this house and for good reason. Because it's better than perfect. The house is in excellent condition and is consistently upgraded. Every time I come there is something new. This time the deck was newly painted and as well as the kitchen and a new mural on the wall. Every thing you could need to make your vacation better is supplied. From rafts,new beach chairs, umbrellas, sunscreen and 2 coolers.
The bedrooms are huge and both have their own bathrooms. The loft can sleep 3 and is perfect for kids. The deck has a couch
2 loungers and a table that seats 6. This is a perfect home in a perfect location. The best part of this rental is the team that takes care of the property.
Chad the house manager greets us every year on check in day. She remembers each returning guest and caters exclusively to your needs.
Rosalee make sure the house is spotless. She even came by midweek and asked us if our sheets needed changing. Her husband is there every morning raking the yard and watering plants.
I don't know how they consistently make it better year after year.
This house feels like home to me. It's full of love and that comes from the team that cares for it.Thank you for another perfect visit.

I am so happy that you noticed the upgrades, including the newly renovated kitchen, the tropical mural leading to the loft and the rejuvenated deck. We want our home away from home to be loved and enjoyed by our guests, so we are always making improvements. The deck becomes an extension of the indoor space, allowing everyone to gather for a meal or soak up the sun, while enjoying the huge coconut palms swaying in the breeze. It is an important gathering space, so we decided to add loungers for those who like to sun bathe, the sectional for reading a book, and the dining set for family meals. Our home was awesome. It was clean, had everything we needed and was a home you could relax in and truly enjoy. The Beach, just a hop skip and a jump away was one of the most perfect beaches I have ever seen. In two weeks we saw a total of 6 other people on it. The owner, Shawna, couldn’t have made our trip any more pleasant and Eleuthera rentals takes the worry out of renting, Pam is. awesome. If you like quiet and peace this is the place for you. The locals are so friendly and helpful you can’t help but feel at home. Food is a sticker shock, so if you can, bring some along with you.

We had the pleasure of staying at this lovely villa for 2 glorious weeks. We were a group of 4 and stayed here very comfortably. It could easily accommodate more. We found the place incredibly tidy and clean and extremely well maintained. The kitchen was very well-equipped with everything you need for meals cooked in. It was complete with an outdoor gas barbecue. All systems functioned to an exceptional level including the gas oven, air conditioning units and we so appreciated the consistent water pressure and constant ceiling fans to help with air circulation. We cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay, just minutes from a beautiful beach. We would definitely entertain a subsequent visit.   A two-week stay at Shangri-La is the perfect amount of time to explore Eleuthera and also spend time relaxing. I am so happy that you found our home away from home clean and well maintained. Our staff takes great pride in keeping excellent care of the interior and exterior of the property. Thank you for mentioning our well-equipped kitchen and outdoor grill, along with how well the house functioned. It's important to have good functioning a/c units, ceiling fans, and consistent water pressure, so that everyone is comfortable. Our beach is truly beautiful and just a hop, skip, and a jump away, making those quick trips back to Shangri-La for a cold Kalik easy. It was a pleasure having a group of Canadians stay with us. This was my third trip to Eleuthera and this rental was my favorite. Not just in eleuthera, as i travel outside the US alot and always rent from Homeaway. This was the best property i have ever rented. First of all the location was perfect. Easy to explore the whole island. The house has everything you need and everything you didnt know you needed.beachchairs, umbrellas, floats, snorlkle gear, cooler etc. Also they have 5 gallon water jugs which are so convenient to refill at the local gas station. The house was large and had room for more then our party of 4. Could easily accommodate 8. The outside deck was large with a gas grill we used for all our dinners. The beach was the best part. So easy to get to. Just right down the path in front of the house. This review would not be complete without mentioning Chad. She was our caretaker while we were there. She can arrange anything you need. We had her stock our fridge with beer for us before we got there. Also rent a car from Chad and her husband Barry. All i can say is Wow! Bravo. Outstanding. This house is the best! You will see me again.

This home is simply terrific. Have stayed on this property for 5 years running. It is only about 100 yards to walk to the beach along a clear but lush pathway AND a short road or beach walk to PASCAL'S restaurant and Sammy's Bar. The property is maintained with excellence - clean, bright well appointed. Nice linens and bath items throughout. Some folding beach chairs welcome for visits to the incredible (and extremely uncrowded) beaches. The local management personnel are a breath of fresh air in that they are very friendly and accommodating - they truly want your stay to be a vacation and stress free. Cannot recommend this spot highly enough. We will return next year, and the next year, and......

Having access to the infinity pool, hot tub, and Pascal's Restaurant is a great feature of Shangri-La. Sammy's pina coladas and fun-loving personality, is always a highlight for many visitors. We enjoy decorating the home with a coastal flair and providing our guests with the best experience possible.The beach is so close and as you said, so quiet. It's a beautiful spot to walk for miles, search for beach finds, swim, boogie board, or just enjoy sitting on the beach chairs with a cooler bag. Another incredible week at Shangri La. This was my second time renting this house. And my 6th visit to Eleuthera. It was better then perfect. It didn't think it could get better then the first visit but somehow the owner and house manager figured that out. I was again impressed on how they do it. The house is located on the best part of the island, mid point so exploring is easy. It takes 90 minutes to get to Lighthouse and about the same to reach Ben Bay. The house comes with everything you need to explore with ease. A large cooler for your longer days out or a mini cooler for beach days in front of the house. House came fully equipped with beach chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear, rafts, beach bags and even freezer packs for cooler! Forget your water shoes or hat at home? Well there are plenty of extras at the house along with extra sunscreen and bugspray.
The porch as always was the gathering spot from early morning coffees to evening drinks. Plenty of sitting room inside as well, with weather being perfect we never actually sat inside. We ate most meals in because it was easier for us being vegan. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking.
I cannot explain how incredible this house is. I will be back again and again. Many thanks to the whole team that made my week the best. Much respect.

This was the perfect place to spend a week's vacation to relax and truly wind down. Travel options in 2020 had to be thought through carefully and we were glad to find Shangri-La. The property is in a private gated community. We were surprised at how short a walk it is to the beautiful beach from the property – the owners have thought of everything as beach chairs, shades, toys, floats were kept available to use for the perfect beach day.
The week we were there, there were a few days when it rained and overcast – however, we didn’t feel like we missed out on anything as Shangri-La has tons of space which allowed everyone to spread out in the wide open areas or spend time hanging out in one of the rooms or cozy loft area to enjoy a book.
The kitchen is well appointed with every appliance that we needed for the stay. Tons of linens and towels are available to really make you feel at home. The furnishings and décor were really well thought out and gave us that out-island, pure vacation getaway feel!
The property was very clean and the owners and caretakers vigilant about Covid protocols as sanitizer and wipes were available – we really felt comfortable and safe on arrival and throughout our stay.
Shawna was an excellent host as she provided tons of information about her favourite spots and places to visit. She was very attentive to our needs and responded quickly to any questions we had to make sure that everything was meeting our needs and expectations. Lachadra was amazing also – she made sure we had her number in case we needed to ask her about anything on-island and was so gracious in providing some welcome refreshments and homemade ice cream.
I would highly recommend this gem of a property to anyone visiting Eleuthera! The property is well located, only a short drive from the airport and a short drive into town. We would not hesitate to stay here again and hope to visit again very soon!
