Property Description

Welcome to High Life, a private hilltop estate with views of the Atlantic or the Caribbean from almost every room.  High Life has a private saltwater pool with a sea view and 2600 square feet of wrap-around verandas with spectacular ocean views. 

Walk down our private stairway to the Old Banks Road, and from there it’s a 100-yard walk to Turtle Beach, which you will almost always have entirely to yourself.  A 15-minute walk takes you to the southern end of the mile-long crescent of pink sand known as Sky Beach.  There is an excellent restaurant and bar on this beach called Pascal’s, which has a swim-up bar.  A five-minute drive from High Life takes you into Governors Harbour, the main town on the island, which has more restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and shops.

Step inside High Life and enter a sitting area overlooking the pool.  This room has a wet bar with glassware as well as plastics for use at the pool.  There is also a mini fridge for beer, wine, and soft drinks.

Beyond this sitting area lies the Atlantic-front great room with 50-mile view through a wall of glass overlooking the ocean.  This room has a TV area with a sofa and chairs, and a game table and chairs for reading and enjoying our puzzles, card games, and board games.

The dining area, which also enjoys ocean views, has a large table with 8 chairs.

The great room includes a fully equipped chef’s kitchen finished in granite and stainless steel.  Appliances include a refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, tea kettle and various culinary appliances.  There are four bar stools at the kitchen counter.  Our kitchen has two sinks, including one equipped with a reverse osmosis filtration system for drinking water.  We also have a water cooler with bottled water.

The entrance room, kitchen, and Atlantic front room and serviced by two 2 1/2-ton split air conditioners providing comfort in the summer months. Being on top of a hill, the breezes that pass through the house provide fresh air and comfortable temperatures in late Fall, Winter, and early Spring.

High Life house features four bedrooms and four baths.  Three of the bedrooms have queen beds and one has a king bed.  Each bedroom has an ensuite full bath and its own mini split air conditioning unit.

High Life’s vast Atlantic-side (east) veranda has a large dining table and a separate seating area with a small table and a total of 8 chairs.  Here you will find some of the best views on the Island with Twin Coves one mile south, Turtle Beach (private cove) 100 yards north, and Sky Beach ½ mile north.

The Caribbean porch (west) features comfortable covered seating and benches. Also, a sun deck with cushioned chaise lounges and tables and chairs.  The Pool is located off this porch and overlooks the Caribbean Sea.

Amenities at High Life include AC throughout, fast Starlink WIFI, washer/dryer, outdoor gas grill, an outdoor shower, and a whole-house back-up generator.  Beach towels, linens, and bath towels are provided, as are  hair dryers in each bathroom. There is also a tented outdoor baby playpen and a pack n play.  On the South porch there is a box with snorkels, masks, floats, and beach equipment.

A professional on-island property manager handles the house.  We also have a part-time gardener (Mon. and Fri.) to clean the pool and manage the trash and pick available fruits.
