Property Description

It's all about location: in this case, a dream vacation location in the heart of Old Town Key West. Duval Street Suite is a two-bedroom, two-full-bath townhouse in a small rooftop community overlooking the island's main artery for fun and entertainment.

From your private and expansive Bahamian-style wraparound balcony, you can sit back in a comfortable Adirondack chair, enjoy a beverage, and take in the day or evening scene below. Duval Street hosts colorful parades, conch train tours, pedicabs, locals, tourists, the rich and famous, kids headed for ice cream at Flamingo Crossing, and sun worshipers headed for the beach. When you've enjoyed watching enough of the goings-on for one sitting, disappear into the residence through any of six French doors. On the front side, four doors open into the living room; on the left side, one door opens into one of the baths; on the right side, one opens into the guest bedroom.

With all four glass doors flung open to the balcony, the living/dining area is flooded with gentle light and tropical cross breezes. Even with the doors closed, this great room is delightfully open and airy thanks to an impressive cathedral ceiling. The lovely stone tile floors add elegance and warmth to the pallet of colors selected for the furniture and accents. A Casablanca-style ceiling whispers above. Below a deep-seated sofa offers comfort, firm support, and the option to convert into an extra queen bed. Flanking the couch are end tables with reading lamps. Close at hand, a wood and glass coffee table makes a convenient resting place for your guidebook or beverage. A comfy arm chair and a TV media chest with four roomy storage drawers complete the living room setting. Wireless high-speed internet, cable, stereo, and DVD player are at your fingertips when you want them.

To the right is the dining area with an elegant glass-top table and six high-back chairs. Here and throughout the residence, cloud white walls make the perfect background for interesting and colorful art work chosen to embellish the ambience. To the left of the dining room is an updated kitchen with handsome blond cabinetry above and below offering plenty of storage space. The room is accented with white tiles and contemporary black appliances. All cooking and serving pieces are provided right down to the corkscrew. One end of the kitchen forms a convenient bar/pass-through to the dining area.

Behind the kitchen is the charming front door entry hall with a colorful Welcome sign and table for your keys and other paraphernalia. To the right is what at first looks like a half bath, and it can function that way. Yet immediately around the corner is a generous shower. Not only is this ever-so-convenient setup accessible from the entry hall but also through a door opening into the guest bedroom. The room has a queen bed guaranteed to yield a very restful sleep. Side tables with lamps, a ceiling fan, and a walk-in closet big enough for a whole wardrobe of vacation wear are among the amenities. Again you have the option to open a set of balcony doors to let the incomparable climate and beauty in.

Sometimes a configuration just makes you feel good and that's certainly true of the master suite at Duval Street. It's in a private loft up highly polished stairs to the left of the living room. Here you'll find a king bed with en suite full bath, generous walk-in closet, and a dresser for your foldable items. And there's a surprise addition-a very private balcony where you can drink your morning latte, read the paper, or sun yourself in as little attire as you choose. No one else can see. This home is Pet (Dog) Friendly**(please see below or our FAQ page for rules and restrictions)

When you've spent time on your balcony and checked out the rest of your residence, perhaps it's time to explore Duval Street in person. A right turn will head you towards the shores of the Atlantic and a left turn will head you towards the Gulf of Mexico. In between are all the things that make the Conch Republic so famous: beaches, tours, museums, shopping, over two hundred restaurants, bars, and the Key West Aquarium where you can pet a shark if you dare. Or maybe you'd prefer to have your picture taken at the Southernmost Point buoy or pose with a parrot perched on your head. If the arts interest you, you've come to the right town for music, movies, plays, art galleries, lectures, artists in residence, and more. Don't miss the sunset celebration at Mallory Square or the opportunities for all kinds of water sports along the Historic Seaport boardwalk.

Visit the beach at Ft. Taylor State Park and claim your spot in the coral sand with a rented umbrella and chaise lounge or just by stretching out your colorful beach towel and plopping down. Maybe snorkel up close and personal with stingrays and tropical fish. When you get hungry or thirsty, a beach concession stand serves beer, food, and snacks. Eat on the deck under an umbrella overlooking the beach. Or bring your own food to enjoy at one of the picnic tables tucked in among shade trees. There are grills, washrooms, changing rooms, outdoor showers, and breathtaking sunsets.

To know what's going on from day to day, check out Historic Hideaways' informative Area Guide/Events page at http://www.historichideaways.com/key-west-events/. Other information on the current music scene, movies, plays, gallery openings, and charitable events can be found at milezerokeywest.com (calendar section) or in the print publication Paradise, which is available at various locations around town every Thursday.

Excellent location. The rental was spacious, well-stocked, clean, and had the best porch for people-watching! Historic Hideaways had great communication and the rental process was seamless. The only issue we had was the noisy rooster each morning at 5:30. A noise app on my phone saved the day! We can’t wait to stay here again!
The unit had everything we needed for the week.

(Rental Agent) at Historic Hideaways was a pleasure to work with. Never left me wondering what was going on or what I needed to do/sign & return papers. The rental was in the best location! Shops downstairs, food establishments across the street or very near and everything else was within walking distance. The porch was wonderful to sit and people watch. The unit had everything we needed for the week. I would’ve liked to have known that they had beach towels available for use. I only used a carry-on to travel and packed a beach towel. Everything else was good! If a Key West trip is in my future, this is exactly where I need to be!

Location, location, location! The condo was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. (Washer/dryer, towels, etc). The rental company had great communication up to and prior to our arrival (we did not need anything during our stay, fortunately). We felt very safe in the building and were thankful for an assigned parking spot in the lot below. The location was fantastic and we loved sitting out on the balcony overlooking Duval. It was a perfect Christmas vacation for our family!

We stayed at this rental for 3 nights in June. We enjoyed the location as we could easily walk to many places we wanted to check out, we also used the free bus system to get to places that were a bit further away. The condo was well appointed, comfortable, and spacious. We really loved the wrap around patio and spent a bit of time out there. The only thing that was not great was the street noise but a good "sleep fan app" really helped with that. If you plan to stay on Duval, you WILL have to put up with the accompanying noise, there is no way around that. Check in and out was easy.
All in all it's a 5 star condo in one of the most wonderful locations in the USA.

The condo was immaculate and everything was as it should be except the WIFI was down for 3 days. The location is good as you are close to the beach on the south end of Duval and you are just over a mile from the north end harbor with all the eateries and shops. It's nice to walk and I am sure the late night noise is less at the condo - however you do get loud trucks early in the morning though and the walls do not keep the sound down. All in all it's a 5 star condo in one of the most wonderful locations in the USA.
Would definitely stay here again.

This was our second year in a row staying in this unit. There was a problem with the AC on the first day and they promptly had it repaired (bad evaporator motor). As with our first stay, we thoroughly enjoyed the unit. The washer and dryer allowed us to bring fewer clothes which translated to one less suitcase! The balcony is the best part of the unit. We spent many hours lounging on it watching the traffic (both cars and pedestrians) below. We especially enjoyed the evening the thunderstorms rolled through. It was a perfect location for watching the lightning. We especially like that it is conveniently located on Duval Street which allowed us to partake in the adult beverages and simply walk back in the evenings. It is also a block from the Duval Street Loop bus stop. Talk about handy!

Pros: Lots of space, great location, great balcony, washer/dryer, full kitchen Cons: outdated/old furniture (couch and beds), holes in blinds with no curtains (sun in the morning is a big issue if you like to sleep past 8), noise pollution starting at 7am. Overall, I would stay again if I got for the same price. Hard to find better unless you don't mind paying at least $600 a night.

We stayed for 4 nights, 1 couple and step-dad, and enjoyed every minute. The home was very nice and clean, and location perfect. It is located on the upper end of Duval St so it was great to watch all the people and had enough places to eat and drink close by. The only issues were that step-dad has mobility issues and the home is on the 2nd floor with stairs only way to access, which is more of our issue since we weren't aware of his extent of mobility. The only other thing is the outside sitting area needed to be cleaned/rinsed off due to the normal wind and moisture made the outside dirty. We would definitely stay there again.
Fantastic totally furnished accomodations.

I spent the weekend in Key West with a group of girlfriends for my bachelorette party. We could not be more pleased with the Duval Street Suite. The apartment had a beautiful wrap around porch, great for people watching. The kitchen was equipped with all the necessary utensils and appliances. The late check in and check out processes were very quick and easy. The apartment was clean and decorated nicely. The suite was in walking distance to all of the popular bars, restaurants, and attractions. I cant speak highly enough about the Duval Street Suite. I will definitely reserve this spot for my next Key West trip. Thank you Historic Hideaways!!

Our family travels to Key West about 3 times a year and we have stayed in many locations. When booking this trip with a group, I found this rental and it looked perfect for all of our needs. Once arrived, we were all thrilled!!! The entire group said " why haven't we stayed here before and this needs to be the place we book overtime!". It was perfect in everyday, great location and super comfy. Circle K almost across the street if you need something during your stay. We will be back and very soon.

This town home-type rental has a queen bed and a bathroom downstairs, and a king (with bathroom) in the loft. The downstairs sofa is a pullout bed, and an additional folding twin bed was in the downstairs closet. Although this is situated on the quieter side of Duval Street, light sleepers may be kept awake by nearby bars. Its easy to walk to the popular attractions. Appliances are in good condition. This town home is one of four in the building. All appear to be managed by separate companies, so there may be little recourse for noisy neighbors (we had no problems).

We stayed in this condo mid January for two weeks. First let me thank (rental agent) who was very helpful. The apartment was very clean, the beds are comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. There were lots of towels and linens. The wrap around Terrace is great for sitting and watch life go by in key West, the bars near by have live music you can enjoy sitting and having a drink while watching. There is a small outdoors sitting area on the second floor in the bed room very nice and private. There is a bit of street noise but it quiets down around midnight on this part of Duval. We love the place and recommend it highly, will stay again.

If you are looking for a 2 bedroom vacation rental look at Duval Street Suite. You do have to climb quite a few stairs to get to the rental. There is no elevator. You will not need an alarm clock because the local rooster will be your wake up call. The rental was very clean and the 2 bedrooms gave each person lots of privacy. One of our morning rituals was to sit on the porch and watch the world wake up.

Very minimal Duval Street "noise" as this location is a bit further south from the active parts of Duval St. I would definitely stay here again with a group of 4 to 6. I've never stayed in a rental that was COMPLETELY stocked with everything except food and booze. Coffee filters to toilet paper. Paper towels to laundry soaps. All linens including beach towels that I found in the downstairs bedroom closet. So so so nice. You will fall in love with the porch and eventually talk yourself into walking across the street to the Rum Bar (highly recommended!) It's just a couple blocks from the beach scene and a somewhat longer walk to Mallory Square/ Sloppy Joe's/HRC. Rental office is just across the street so check in is easy. Fair warning...the roosters are noisy and there is a bar on the next corner that had really loud music but only on Thursday night and only until 11PM. Seriously, consider this place.

A group of friends and I stayed here for a wedding and it was great-- we really enjoyed it. Right across the street from where you check in and a parking spot is included-- they made it all very easy. All 3 beds (we used both bedrooms + the pullout couch) were clean, the bathrooms were clean, the AC central air worked well, and we didn't see any bugs at all inside (unlike some of our friends who stayed with other companies)! While the suite is not brand new, the kitchen has been updated and most things you need are available to you (washer/dryer, dishwasher, blow dryer, iron, etc). The wrap around porch was so fun to sit out on with a beer and people watch, but it's far enough down Duval St that it's not super loud/right next to the bars. Would definitely stay again!

Great location, right on Duval St but far enough away from Malory Sq not to be overwhelmed with late night party noises. Loved the wrap around balcony, condo amenities. Two complaints....rental agreement gave the impression the property had a pool - no pool and the A/C unit was not big/powerful enough to cool the unit properly in the Florida summer heat. I would book again but only if I was visiting in the cooler months or a new A/C unit was installed.
MANAGER RESPONSE:
Thank you for your feedback. The unit does not have a pool (nor access to one) and is not advertised as such. A/C - we discovered a faulty blower after your call (which was fixed right away) so that was the issue. All better now...

My sister and I stayed here for the first half of March and had a marvelous time! We made a lot of use out of the large wrap around breezy balcony. Breakfast to overlook the quiet morning activity, mid day cocktails to experience the more hopping activity of visitors coming and going along the street, and many many dinners on the balcony entertaining friends and enjoying the nightlife and hearing Chapman on his post sunset ride once up and down the street with his upbeat music pumping! But step inside of the spacious condo, close the doors and quiet descends. Honestly, I was a bit worried that it would be difficult to sleep while staying on Duval Street, but none of the street noise filtered into the condo. You may, however, hear the comings and goings of your neighbors so do expect some of that throughout the night. Bring a pair of earplugs, our play a white noise app on your iPhone or iPad and you'll be good to good especially if you find yourself there during spring break or some other more popping time of year. Designated parking space, bike rack, close proximity to Zach Taylor State Park, the cruise ship pier, Faustos on Fleming for provisions, and La te da over and a cross the street is perfect for a cocktail or dinner at the bar. It is an experience that we will cherish for many years to come!

We loved the wrap around porch for relaxing, entertaining and people watching. Historic Hideaways was very helpful In making some suggestions where the whole family would enjoy the day!
Would stay there again.

Great location, very comfortable. Late check in made easy. Some sugar ants in the kitchen, a few cracked tiles here and there, and the sprayer on the kitchen sink did not work at all. But overall very satisfied. We did report the issues at checkout, and I believe they were going to take care of it. Would stay there again. Lots of space.
Just want to thank you too for the wonderful service.

Just want to thank you too for the wonderful service. (rental agent) was so easy to talk to. I felt welcomed from the moment we walked in the office! The home was spacious for the four of us and was spotless upon arrival. I couldn't ask for a better location, the wrap around porch was perfect for relaxing and people watching...the only one thing I wish was included was access to a pool.
