Property Description

Welcome to Cozy Cone Chalet!

Set on a quiet hillside in the heart of Big Sky, the Cozy Cone Chalet is the rare mountain retreat you can walk out of and right into town. Big Sky’s Village Center is just a 5 to 10 minute stroll away, so the car stays parked while you wander to dinner, shops, and the village buzz. Three bedrooms, two and a half baths, sleeps eight.

Inside, warm hardwood floors run throughout an open living space styled in elegant Montana Western; bison art, cowhide accents, woven Southwestern textiles, and comfy green accent chairs gathered around an oversized sectional with room for the whole group to pile in. A cast-iron wood-burning stove anchors the room with a gentle crackle, a Smart TV and sound system make movie nights easy, and a dining table seats eight.

The kitchen is genuinely made for cooking, not just reheating. Warm pine cabinetry, bright solid-surface counters, and full stainless appliances come paired with everything you’d want on hand: coffee maker, toaster, blender, crockpot, kettle, bakeware, cooking utensils, even a starter set of spices. Pull up one of four leather barstools at the breakfast bar for morning coffee, then gather everyone around the table for a home-cooked meal as the fire crackles nearby. Tucked between the kitchen and living room, a closet stocked with board games is ready whenever the mood calls for a laid-back evening in.

Here’s the part guests don’t expect: the garage has been transformed into a dedicated game room, complete with a shuffleboard table, comfortable lounge seating, and a glowing Big Sky resort sign. There’s smart ski- and gear-storage built right in: wall racks and a drop zone for boots and boards, plus a workbench with a few provided tools so you can tinker with your snow or fishing gear before heading out. It’s the kind of bonus space that turns a good trip into a memorable one.

Head up the stairs where you’ll be greeted by Theodore, the resident mule deer mount and unofficial mascot of the chalet, to find three inviting bedrooms sharing the upper level. The primary suite welcomes you with a king bed and a private ensuite bath. The two additional bedrooms are designed for families and groups alike, each featuring a beautifully crafted custom loft bed pairing a queen below with a twin-XL bunk above, individual reading lights, its own TV, and a window framing the green hillside. Comfortable for kids and adults, they sleep the whole crew with room to spread out.

Outside, the patio is built for slow mornings and starry nights. Sink into the private hot tub tucked against a pine-dotted hillside. It’s the perfect soak after a day on the slopes or the trails. Then settle into the cushioned lounge area or gather at the full outdoor dining set, with a grill on hand for long summer evenings. Pour a glass of wine, breathe in the crisp mountain air, and let the day wind down beneath the big Montana sky.

Winter
Big Sky Resort is the biggest skiing in America, and it earns that title every single year. With 5,800 skiable acres, 4,350 feet of vertical drop, and an average of 400+ inches of snowfall annually, it delivers for every level of skier and rider. When you are ready to step off the slopes, the historic Lone Mountain Ranch has 85+ kilometers of groomed Nordic trails through the wilderness, voted the #1 cross-country ski resort in North America. Beyond that, Yellowstone National Park, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, dog sledding, ice fishing, and world-class spa experiences are all within easy reach.

Summer
The mountains do not slow down when the snow melts. Within minutes you have world-class fly fishing, river rafting, golf, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and zip-lining at your doorstep. Follow the scenic Gallatin River along historic Highway 191 and you are at the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park in just 45 minutes. Stay long enough and you will find free concerts, farmers markets, and weekly events scattered throughout the season.
