Welcome to CASTAWAY II, our 4 bedroom/3 bath beach house that sleeps up to 12 (if you are planning a family reunion, wedding, or require room for more guests, we own several more homes adjacent to Castaway II to accommodate your needs- just let us know) located by the beautiful uncrowded beaches of the Gulf of Mexico in the Ft. Morgan area of Gulf Shores.

CASTAWAY II is about 250 feet from the beach with direct beach access (no streets or roads to cross getting to the beach). The beach is about 1 minute or less walk, and is actually closer to the beach than many of the so called "beach front" condos.

NO crowds; NO traffic; NO noise; NO high rise condos or motels; NO endless string of the usual tourist shops, night clubs, and bars.

CASTAWAY II is totally equipped for beach fun. Here is a partial list of things we furnish AT NO ADDITIONAL COST (items in CAPITOL letters are not normally included with other rental houses, or may be provided by other houses at additional charge). Once again, everything on this list is included AT NO ADDITIONAL COST to you:

LOCATION: 431 Bernard Court East, Gulf Shores, Alabama

DIRECTIONS FROM GULF SHORES: As you come into Gulf Shores on highway 59, cross the Intracoastal Canal Bridge (high bridge over canal) and go to the 4th traffic light. This will be the intersection of Highway 59 and Highway 180 (the Ft. Morgan Highway). There will be a WALLGREENS on one corner and a BURGER KING on the opposite corner. Turn west (right) between WALLGREENS and BURGER KING and go about 18 2/10 miles to BENARD COURT EAST. Turn left on BENARD COURT EAST and CASTAWAY 2 is the 5th house on the right.

CASTAWAY 2 is indeed the best beach vacation value anywhere. You will not find a nicer place so well equipped anywhere near the affordable rate as CASTAWAY 2. With the many things extras we furnish, all you'll need to bring is your bathing suit and your food. We even have a slightly used tooth brush for you to use! (JUST KIDDING!)

We hope that you'll be staying with us. We believe that once you've stayed with us at Castaway 2 one time, Castaway 2 will be your permanent beach vacation home!

Vacation Rental Policies

Payment Options: Money Order, Personal Check, Credit Card
Check In:  2:00 p.m. or after
Check Out:  10:00 a.m. or before
Required Stay:  3 night minimum
Deposits:  $500.00 deposit required to confirm your reservation. Rental and any applicable fees due two (2) weeks prior to your arrival date. After your departure, home will be inspected- if no damages, your deposit will be returned to you, normally within a few days of your departure.
Lodging Tax:  Included in quoted rates.
Cancellation Policy:  If evacuation ordered due to weather, all deposit and rental refunded if occupancy has not begun. If occupancy has begun, refund is pro-rated for length of stay. Cancellation of Reservations Ė If you cancel your reservation, no refund will be made until the property is re-rented and confirmed for the same time period. All cancellations must be in writing. Fax or e-mail cancellations are accepted. For cancellation purposes, each week of a multiple week reservation is considered separately. New Stone Realty, L.L.C. will make every effort to re-rent the property to minimize loss.
Other Fees:  Approved pets are extra.

Master bedroom has king size bed, its own bath, its own TV, and its own outside entrance in addition to the hall entrance.
Bedrooms #2 and #3 have queen size beds, and bedrooms #4 has twin beds.
Sleeper sofa lets out to make double bed.

Property Activities


There is a full service marina, Gulf Shores Marina, about Ĺ mile from Castaway II. It has a grocery store, bait and tackle, ice, boat ramp, gift shop, and a Tacky Jackís 2 Restaurant and a beach bar. Great food, and some might nice people run the place and work there.

Ft. Morgan, a historic Civil Was fort, is about 2 Ĺ miles from our house. This historic fort played a major role in the War Between the States (also fondly known down here as the War of Northern Aggression). Take a tour of the fort and museum. Itís very interesting and entertaining.

Every 45 minutes (be sure to check their web-site to verify schedule) the ferry departs from Ft. Morgan across Mobile Bay to Dauphin Island. This is a short cut to Mobile and the Mississippi casinos. Many people take a ride on the ferry even if it is just to cross Mobile Bay and come back. There is a special reduced price for walk onís as opposed to crossing with your vehicle.

The ESTUARIUM over on Dauphin Island is an exhibit of large tanks containing most of the species of fish found in our area of the Gulf and Mobile Bay. It is quite informative. Itís a few minutes walk from the ferry landing on Dauphin Island, and most folks walk on the ferry and walk to the Esturium from the ferry landing. It takes several hours to view the exhibit.

At last count, there were some 13 golf courses in the Ft. Morgan, Gulf Shores, Mobile area. Three of them are located on the Ft. Morgan road, and each of them is a very fine golf course.

For those who like to fish, surf fishing is a fun way to spend some time. We do not supply the equipment, but you can get that at the Marina Store just down the road. Be careful about handling the catfish. If their fins stick you, it is very painful. Spanish Mackerel, Redfish, Pompano, Lady Fish, and speckled trout are some of the varieties caught from the beach.

Because our area has so many natural and man made reefs, we have some of the finest deep sea fishing along the whole Gulf of Mexico. There are several charter boats based at the nearby marina.

The Tanger Outlet stores in Foley, about a 25 minute drive, lets you shop until you drop. There are over one hundred name brand factory outlet stores, and you can find just about everything you might want.

Our area has some of the best dining found anywhere. Our local Tacky Jackís 2 has some very good seafood and a real good Rib Eye steak and the worldís best hamburger.

Right back up the road toward Gulf Shores, there is a mexican resturant, the Beach Club, a pizza place, and the Round Back resturant at the Pines, and the Morgan Plaza grocery store.

There are so many restaurants that have delicious menus. Some of my favorite are: King Neptuneís about ľ mile on the right from the intersection of highway 59 and 180. Just a
little further down highway 59 past King Neptuneís is the Original Oyster House. Great seafood. But, just about any place down there is good. You canít go wrong with any of them.

There are several amusement parks nearby with fun things for all ages. If you have time, visit the Gulf Shores zoo. They have an alligator that is supposed to be one of the largest in captivity. He escaped during Hurricane Ivan in 2004, and made national news when he was found and brought back to his home at the zoo.

Gulf Shores also has its own water park very near the zoo.

Located on the Ft. Morgan road, this national wildlife refuge has several hiking trails where you can see the natural beauty and plants and animals that inhabit our area. You will see how it looked before there were any people or building. You will see what Columbus would have seen if he had landed here.

The beautiful Ft. Morgan area beaches are our main attraction!
Beautiful and uncrowded, youíll almost think you have your own private beach. If you take an EARLY morning walk along the beach, chances are that youíll find sand dollars and very pretty sea shells.

Our Ft. Morgan area has so much to offer!
