This immaculate, newly refurbished and unique Ocean Front sanctuary is located in the exquisite and exclusive gated community of Ocean Place on Amelia Island, Florida. The Atlantic Ocean front property is in Summer Beach immediately South and contiguous to the magnificent Ritz Carlton Hotel of Amelia Island, a five (5) Star Hotel.
There is a private championship golf course steps away from our property in front of the Ritz Carlton called the Amelia Golf Club where our guests have golfing privileges for a reduced rate. Also, there are several other championship golf courses on the Island and nearby off the Island for an additional variety of golfing opportunities.
Amelia Island is ideal for travelers seeking a vacation off the beaten track. The treasured historic city of Fernandina Beach reminds one of Old Key West. The downtown area boasts being one of the oldest cities in Florida and has been under eight (8) flags over the centuries. The Island now has small boutiques, fine art galleries, folk art, antique shops, bistros, restaurants, live entertainment, and bars. All these places are small "one-of-a-kind" specialty shops and restaurants for all tastes. The historic district of the City of Fernandina also has scores of newly restored gorgeous 19th century and early 20th century vintage ginger bread style homes just off Center Street for touring and walking downtown. The historic district increases it's geographical footprint every year as new properties are restored to their original previous splendor.
Our property is a newly renovated and beautifully furnished, immaculate, non-smoking, privately situated, 5th floor End Unit condominium. It is located in a secure gated enclave with lush tropical vegetation and sprawling mature live oaks and palm trees surrounding the property.
There are breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean from nearly every window of this distinctive end unit corner location. Also, there are special views of the early morning Atlantic Ocean sun rise from the huge private terrace facing the water.
The terrace also serves as a large extra room during the day for enjoying the outdors in the comfort and privacy of the confines of the condo. The terrace uniquely provides both a pleasant shaded retreat from late morning to the evening sunset or a sunny sunbathing place up until the late afternoon. There are ocean breezes constantly coming from the sea to keep the summer days cooler and refreshing. This outdoor terrace is our favorite place to extend worshipping the sun or relaxing, reading or just watching the ocean and the world go by in the sun or the shade.
The interior includes spotlessly clean, tasteful, and sophisticated furnishings and seating areas with large built-in closets and an ultra modern kitchen. The 10 foot ceilings distinguish the property in the living room, kitchen, dining room, master bedroom, entry way, and the spacious ocean front terrace; all of these spaces have unobstructed ocean views of the Atlantic Beach below. Each of the three bedrooms has a private bath and shower.
The large ocean front Master Bedroom Suite has an oversized Master Bath with a Jacuzzi tub, separate glass shower, private commode, and dual sinks. This extraordinary Master Suite area also opens directly to the spacious terrace with clear ocean views, sounds and breezes with a high and wide sliding glass patio door as well as a large window overlooking the sand dunes and the ocean beach.
The master bedroom has a king size bed while the other two large bedrooms each have an oversized queen size bed and one of the rooms has an extra twin bed. There is a TV/VCR and phone in each of the bedrooms. The main living room area also has a TV with a DVD player and is connected to Comcast cable for a wide variety of channels.
This beautiful tropical paradise boasts one of the most desirable locations in Florida's Atlantic Coast. This quiet unspoiled stretch of North East Florida coastline has 13 miles of endless empty golden sand beaches on this unique barrier island located at the border with Florida and Georgia. One can walk the entire length of the Island from Fort Clinch on the north end at the mouth of the St. Mary's River all the way to the Amelia Island State Park on the south end of the Island with a totally onobstructed journey of 13 miles.
The island is also known for it's lush championship golf courses including the neaarby Golf Club of Amelia, a nine iron away from our building in front of our next door neighbor, the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
There are also miles of salt marshes and grassy vegetation to be viewed on the West side of Amelia Island along the Intra-Coastal Waterway gracing the entire Western edge of the Island.
There is a short stroll over the environmentally designed wooden walkway deck and the sand dunes to get to our sandy beach. There are three families of large Gopher Turtles that live and wander around the sand dunes below our balcony daily.
In addition, there are 2 private gorgeous ocean front swimming pools with comfortably furnished pool deck areas with chaise lounge chairs and tables for relaxing and sunbathing for our guests.
Amelia Island is also popular for many other activities including the very special experience of beach horse back riding, surf fishing (for whiting, small bonnet shark, blue fish, cat fish, and other species depending on the season), deep sea charters (grouper, snapper, shark, sea bass, cobia, amber jack, barracuda, and other species depending on the season), cycling, boating, river and ocean kayaking, surfing, windsurfing, swimming, para-sailing and just relaxing.
As mentioned, there are complex marshes on the Westerm edge of Amelia Island residing on the Maine to Florida Intra-Coastal Waterway. There are also thick, old growth pine and live oak forests nearby that offer great opportunities for hiking, canoeing, kayaking or cycling.
Just off the South end of the Amelia Island there in a bridge leading to two (2) large pristine Florida State Parks on the Atlantic offering beatiful sandy beaches available for picnicking, sunbathing, fishing and other beach activity for a change of scenery. These two islands are called Little Talbot and Big Talbot Islands.
The local area is not only well known for its natural beauty, active lifestyle and restful views, but also for the great night life with many very fine cafe's, bistros, bars and restaurants including the famous Palace Saloon which has bragging rights to being the oldest saloon in Florida and one of the oldest in the United States.
The beautiful Five Star (*****) Ritz Carlton Hotel is located steps away from our property with a conveniently located paved walkway for easy access. The Ritz offers the finest dining on the Island and many special amenities including one of the most sophisticated day spas in Florida as well as a professionally staffed fitness center, tennis courts and wellness center.

Rentals Available weekly from Saturday to Saturday starting May 16, 2009 to Saturday, September 12, 2009. Non-Holiday weeks are $2,795/week. Holiday weeks for rentals including Memorial Day (5/23-5/30/09), July 4th (7/4-7/11/09), or Labor Day (9/5-9/12/09) are $2,995/week. Each week has a 9.1% tax and weekly one-time cleaning fee of $120/week. Rental is payable by check with half the total before your visit upon securing confirmed reservation through the owner and the balance at least 3 weeks before the rental period begins. As noted, rental is for summer season only from May 16, 2009 to September 12, 2009.
Daily rentals are discouraged but if the property is available after consultation with the owner, rates are $529/night, with 4 night stay minimum plus tax of 9.1%and a cleaning fee of $120.
