ACCOMMODATIONS: Windswept Vistas has three bedrooms plus one additional private sleeping area for your enjoyment.
Main level: Master King
Upper level: Master Queen, Master Queen
Lower level: Queen Room, Queen Sleeper in Family Room
This open and spacious cabin is located just five minutes from Appalachian State University and historic downtown Boone; and less than fifteen miles from Blowing Rock and Banner Elk. With a relaxing view, cozy gas fireplace, central AC, LED lighting, large firepit area, hot tub, ping pong table, and with a second kitchen – It’s always a guest favorite.
Sitting atop beautiful Snaggy Mountain is Windswept Vistas – where each of the four sleeping areas has its own deck to enjoy the relaxing views. Throughout the home, Windswept Vistas offers a welcoming and inviting atmosphere. As you enter this cabin, you are drawn to the wonderful views through the many large windows, or the forty foot stacked stone fireplace that is the centerpiece of the open living area. The comfortable leather furniture is both stylish and conducive to relaxing in front of a warm fire for a family movie night; with a bentwood rocking chair for a soothing escape. There is a convenient washroom on this level as well, helping maintain privacy for those staying in the master bedroom.
Off to one side of the living area is the dining room, with a large table surrounded by windows to take in the random view of deer and wild turkey. Or step outside onto one of the six decks to a large outdoor dining area and gas grill with rockers for the “grill master” to relax in while keeping an eye on things. Adjoining the dining area is the large, modern kitchen with quality appliances and ample space. There are even some cookbooks available to help get you started, and extra seating at the counter.
Across the main level on the other side you will find the master bedroom, with cast-iron king bed and its own deck with log furniture. As in all the sleeping areas, there are HDTv’s and quality linens. The master bathroom is an escape all its own, with large garden tub and separate tiled walk-in shower with multiple showerheads – just think “relaxation.”
Upstairs you will find two more rooms, each with a queen bed, HDTv, private deck with log furniture and private bath with tiled shower. Separating the two is the loft, with a comfy chair perfect for curling up with a good book, and a desk with a wired High-Speed internet connection for those working remotely. There are high open ceilings throughout this level as well.
The lower level of this home features a large family room complete with its own kitchen, full bath and the fourth room, with private deck. Perfect for someone who wants a little extra privacy, the family room has a seating area, table and chairs to accommodate a meal or game of cards, and a HDTv with surround sound. The bathroom on this level has a whirlpool tub, or step outside and enjoy the stars from the covered hot tub while enjoying a crackling fire in the firepit.
For family fun, this home has a ping pong table in the family room, and on the outdoor patio the firepit is complete with comfortable adirondack seating – perfect for roasting hot dogs, marshmallows and making SMORES..or simply enjoying a crackling wood fire. There is also a large fenced area in back to provide a play area for young children, or a convenient and enclosed option for your four legged family members.
Windswept Vistas has paved access for all but the last quarter mile - It is plowed in winter, but 4WD or AWD vehicles are required November-March, and chains may also be necessary to access this property in winter months.
All linens, towels and complimentary toiletries are included with your stay.
A maximum of 2 Dogs (under 50lbs) are welcome at $25/night per each pet.
Firewood may be added at the time of booking or by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You get two wrapped bundles and a firestarter for $25/night.

Windswept Vista was a beautiful cabin, very well equipped and clean. We had a slight problem with the door lock upon arrival but it was quickly fixed. Our whole family loved this cabin and we would definitely stay there again.

Great place to stay. The upstairs and basement are both great areas to hang out in. The road up to house is quite an adventure so make sure you are driving a car that can handle a steep mountain road.

Perfect week in the mountains. The approaching road is sort of iffy for the last 50 yards, but our minivan handled it fine. Saw a bear from the front steps! Plenty of space for our family of 5 to relax. Thanks for a great time! We'd definitely rent this one again if we go back to Boone.

This house was amazing! The location was absolutely perfect, close to town if you needed anything as well as close distance to many hiking trails. It was located at the end of a winding road which was great so we did not have to hear any cars driving by during the day or at night. The view out of the back of the house was beautiful, even on foggy days. The house was beautiful, clean and very well stocked. We had 6 adults staying here and we all had ample room to ourselves as well as a great space for gathering in the living room. Having the extra kitchen/refrigerator on the lower level was great for our food overflow. The house gives you a starter kit of items (soap, detergent, paper towels, toilet paper) which was great to get us started and in some areas got us through the week. Blue ridge rentals were easy to get in touch with and were extremely helpful with looking at things to do while we were there. The hot tub was just what we needed after days of hiking, great location on the lower level, shielded from the rain. The fire pit was just great and the firewood we were able to order ahead of time and have at our arrival was perfect. I would highly recommend this house to families or larger groups, it was absolutely amazing!

The house was amazing. We had 6 adults and 2 children and there was plenty of room. The location is very central and worked well for us as we went to Blowing Rock and Banner Elk. We love being in Boone and close to all of the restaurants. The basement area of the house is great and like a little separate apartment. We had a great experience and can't wait to go back!

Enjoyed the stay as vacation rental owners ourselves we appreciated the extra touches like soaps and shampoo, tasteful decorations, cleanliness , and great communication. We will be back, a fenced yard for the pups is a must and they loved it. Elk River Fallls is amazing Swimming area , beautiful drive, well worth the 50 min trip. Eat at Moon- great sushi and Thi food and we are picky foodies, skip the purple onion, the alpine coaster was a lot of fun also. Lots to do, shopping in Blowing Rick is cute and quaint. Four couples and our 10 lb 4 legged child went here for a long weekend. The house was perfect! We would not have changed a thing. The kitchen was stocked with all needed utensils and the house was very welcoming. We cannot wait to go back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Windswept Vistas! When you stay at a property it's the little things that really set properties apart. We checked in two days after Christmas and the entire cabin was very nicely decorated for the holidays providing a very comforting feeling instead of the typical sterile environment. I would highly recommend this cabin and hope that we can keep this worked into our "must visit" places!

This cabin was perfect. There was eight of us and we never felt crowded. We enjoyed having two full kitchens and everyone couple had their own full bathrooms. The firepit and hot tub was a bonus during our stay. We will be going back again next year for our annual family mountain trip.

All 9 of us (ages 21-84) thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Lots of large gathering spots both indoor and out as well as cozy private rooms, balconies and bathrooms. Many options for all. Our hosts were extremely accommodating and responsive. We enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub and game nights at the dining room table. We loved Boone and found lots to do in town. Great cabin! Great company! Great service! This was our first stay at Windswept Vistas. We loved the view and serenity. Terrific for “navigating out of the rat race.” You really do feel like you are alone and away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I don't think you can go wrong with Blue Ridge. They are easy to deal with and extremely friendly! The road up to the cabin is so picturesque and it is only 10-15 minutes from downtown Boone. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could imagine you would need. There is a washer and dryer inside the cabin. We also used the hot tub near the fire pit. The WiFi was on the slow side and our ATT cell phones were not very functional. But that is to be expected in secluded mountains.

I highly recommend Windswept Cabin! My husband and I just spent a week with two other couples and two kids and had a fabulous time. The space is open and comfortable. We played games, ate awesome food and talk, talk talked. The personal bathrooms were an extra plus. The scenery is beautiful and Boone Downtown is so close, easy to make a run out and back. Sugar Mt is not too far and was so much fun. We were here during snow; Snaggy Mt Rd is plowed, but the turn-off to the cabin is not and is a little tricksy. We have a VW Golf, and we did OK, but my husband is from PA and has experience driving in the snow. The others had a 4x4 and did not have any trouble. A beautiful, very clean, comfortable retreat. Thank you!
