Grandfather Vistas is a timberframe-style mountain home in the gated Timber Rock community, located about 15 minutes south of Blowing Rock. The home sleeps up to 11 across four bedrooms and an additional private sleeping area, with three full bathrooms and two separate living areas. Two decks look out toward Grandfather and Grandmother Mountains, providing outdoor seating plus a gas grill, a patio table, and a 4-person hot tub. A firepit area outside the home is available for evenings outdoors.

On the main level, the open floor plan centers on the great room, where leather seating faces a remote-controlled gas log fireplace and a 55” SmartTV. The kitchen includes leathered-surface granite counters, stainless steel appliances, and a large island with five bar stools, with additional dining seating for six at the table. Entry options include a level entrance through the laundry room and a front-door entry with four steps.

Two primary suites are located on opposite sides of the great room. One suite offers a queen bed and a 55” SmartTV with an adjoining full bath featuring a tiled shower; this bathroom also opens to the laundry hallway. The second suite includes a king bed, a twin fold-out sleeper sofa, a 55” SmartTV, and a private bath with a tiled shower.

Downstairs, a second living area includes a café-style table, a sitting area with a queen sleeper sofa, and another 55” SmartTV, plus a full bathroom with a tub/shower and two additional rooms with queen beds. The garage just off the sitting area includes a ping-pong table that can be folded and stored if you prefer to park inside. Guests also have access to the community’s covered pavilion with an open meeting space, a built-in grill, and a grassy area; catch-and-release fly fishing is permitted in the river beside the pavilion. The home is not pet friendly, and there is an outdoor surveillance camera on the front porch facing the driveway.

The main level features an open floor plan with two entrances. One entrance is level and goes through the laundry room, and the other has just four steps through the front door and into the great room. The kitchen has leathered-surface granite counters, stainless steel appliances, and a huge island with 5 bar stools around it, and there’s room for 6 more at the dining room table. Cozy leather couches are arranged around the remote-controlled gas log fireplace with a 55” SmartTV mounted above it.

There are two master bedroom suites on this level, one on either side of the great room. The suite to the left has a Queen bed, 55” SmartTV, and adjoins a full bath with a tiled shower. This bathroom also opens to the laundry hallway. The other master suite, to the right of the great room, has a King bed and a twin fold-out sleeper sofa, a 55” SmartTV, as well as a private bath with a tiled shower.

Downstairs is a second living area with a café-style table and a sitting area including a Queen sleeper sofa arranged around another 55” SmartTV, a full bathroom with a tub/shower, and two more rooms each with a Queen bed. Enjoy a spirited game of ping-pong in the garage just off the sitting area! If you wish to park inside the garage, simply fold up the ping pong table and store it against the wall.

Both of the decks at this home overlook the beautiful views of Grandfather and Grandmother Mountains. The upper deck has Adirondack chairs and a gas grill, and the lower deck has a patio table and a 4-person hot tub. The firepit outside the house is the perfect spot for s’mores and stargazing fun.

Guests staying at this home have access to the covered pavilion at the entrance of the community. This pavilion has a wide open meeting space and a built in grill, as well as a large grassy area for kids of all ages to play in. Catch & Release fly fishing is permitted in the wide, shallow river flowing beside the pavilion, as well.

- CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
- Firewood may be added by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You get two wrapped bundles and a firestarter for $25/night.
- Please note that the wifi is not suitable for gaming and streaming.

- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Check in is after 4pm and check out is by 10am
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.

All reservations are subject to a $45-$80 reservation processing fee, applicable taxes, and require a credit card number to be placed on file. Reservations made in advance require fifty percent (50%) of the rental fee for confirmation and must be received

Check in time is between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM at our office at 8100-3 Valley Blvd. (Hwy 321 By-Pass)in Blowing Rock on the scheduled date of arrival. During busy seasons and holidays, checkin may be later than 3:00 depending on housekeeping and maintenance

Check Out

Check out time is 11:00 AM on the scheduled date of departure. When checking out, it is the tenant's responsibility to remove all trash from the premises, clean dirty dishes (either by hand washing or by placing in the dishwasher and turning on prior to

Cancellation Policy

All reservation sales are final. If you must cancel your reservation, please call our office immediately. Cancellations, switching of properties and date changes all invoke the cancellation policy. If you cancel, want to switch properties or need to change your dates, there is a $50.00 cancellation fee and you forfeit 50% of the total rent due. If the property rebooks for your same dates, then your advance rents will be refunded less the $50 cancellation fee. If the property fails to rebook, then you forfeit your entire advance payment which is equal to 50% of the total rent due. Any reservation made within 15 days of the arrival date is a guaranteed reservation and if you fail to keep the reservation the total amount of the reservation fee will be charged. Also, any tenant who fails to check in by 11:00 AM on the day following the scheduled arrival date without notification, under the terms of the Rental Agreement, shall forfeit all advance payments and all reservation rights.

Deposit(s)

DAMAGE DEPOSIT: Each tenant is required to provide a Visa or Mastercard number for BRMR to keep on file for damages or the payment of a refundable damage deposit. The deposit amount is $100-$800 and varies depending on the property and applies for all reservations made for occupancy around Christmas and New Year's Day. We also reserve the right to require a damage deposit under certain unusual circumstances.

When a deposit is required, it may be paid with cash, cashier's check, or money order at checkin or by personal check beyond 30 days of checkin. After the property is vacated, it will be inspected. In the event that there are damages to the property or its contents or there are extraordinary cleaning expenses as a result of your stay, the amount of total damages will be deducted from your deposit or charged to your credit card and you will receive a detailed accounting of the charges within 45 days of your checkout date. Otherwise, if there are no damages and a deposit was collected, then the total deposit amount will be refunded within 45 days of your departure. If a tenant fails to appear for checkin, a cancellation fee may also be applied to the credit card according to the cancellation policy.
