Property Description

Early Bird Summer/Fall Specials! This unit is available for monthly rental only, during select summer into fall months at a BIG Savings. Please see the rate tab under the unit page for details, or call our office!!

Impressive. Distinctive. Comfortable. The perfect spot for your tropical get away. This second floor, two bedroom, two full bath Harbour Place condominium is a part of Key West's prestigious Truman Annex community. From the luxurious pool area one floor below, you can enjoy breathtaking views just steps from the Gulf of Mexico. Watch passing tall ships, cruise ships, pleasure boats, party boats, and sport boats as you sun yourself or take a swim. The inviting pool is surrounded by lush tropical foliage and has plenty of comfy patio furniture for your lounging comfort. The water is temperature-controlled, and the facility is for the exclusive use of Harbour Place guests.

Two stories up (by elevator or stairs), the balcony of this professionally decorated condo has limited water views from the balcony off the living/dining area. While in another part of the residence, the Master bedroom balcony offers wonderful views of Truman's Little White House Museum where United States Presidents and many other world heads of state have resided over the years. Weddings and other stately ceremonies frequently take place on the lawn under the huge presidential shade trees.

Banana Key is beautifully appointed in all new and striking furniture and accessories featuring the lush colors of Key West-ocean blue, sand beige, vegetation yellow and green, with accents of orange and magenta. As you enter from the carpeted and soundproof hallway, you find yourself in the elegant foyer. To the immediate right is one of the two bedrooms. This one has twin beds with fluffy bedding and three large windows to let in plenty of sunlight and moonlight. The white oak floor is dotted with colorful area rugs while a Casablanca-type ceiling fan whirs above circulating air and adding ambience. A three-level dresser, a full closet, a cushioned chair, bedside table with sea shell reading lamp complete the scene. A flat screen TV is perfectly positioned for comfortable viewing from the beds. Immediately to the right of this this room is a full bath with mirrored shower doors, a linen closet stuffed with nubby towels, and tile floor.

A right turn from the foyer puts you in a hallway that leads past the washer/dryer closet into the kitchen but not without a door on the right that opens into the Master bedroom with full en suite bath. The four poster king bed has been crafted in a handsome dark wood and dressed in a flower and seashell motif comforter. Nearby a leather loveseat and ottoman offer a place for upright relaxation. A dark wood dresser and ceiling fan continue the striking wood tone throughout the room. In popping contrast to the dark are the cloud white walls and a wall of windows with slatted blinds. Best of all, a glass door opens to a small balcony with seating for two. The one-of-a-kind view is of palm trees framing the Truman White House and grounds. Although you didn't come on vacation to sleep, this room is a true temptation.

The next room is the galley kitchen with double sinks and all the appliances and cabinet space you could wish for. Contemporary spot lighting dots the ceiling in case you want to prepare a meal after dark. A wide and decorative pass-through from the kitchen to the dining area is convenient and adds openness and architectural interest. The square dining table and four high-backed chairs are as ideal for a game of cards or Trivial Pursuit as for a meal.

Right beyond is the living room space delineated by a stunning blue & sand hued area rug and blue curved sectional couch that can seat up to six. A glass-top coffee table, green banana plants, and a tropical ceiling fans make this the heart of the living space where you'll sit to watch TV or movies on the flat screen. Also available is cable, high-speed internet, DVD player, and shelf sound system. Ambient light fills the room from the many windows and from the glass door out onto the long balcony outfitted with deck chairs and glass-top table.

While your condo comes with reserved and covered parking, you'll probably find you don't really need a car. From your central location, everything is easily accessible by foot or bike. Steps from your door enjoy the manicured landscaping, verdant palms, and interconnecting pathways that give your Truman Annex neighborhood its park-like atmosphere. Stroll out the private gates to find yourself immersed in the sights and sounds of the fabulous Duval Street, the island's main artery for tours, museums, and shops of all descriptions. Of course there are bars galore and over two hundred restaurants, many with open-air seating, some right on the water. Don't miss the Butterfly & Nature Conservatory, the Key West Aquarium, and especially the nightly sunset celebration where visitors and locals alike gather in Mallory Square to applaud as the sun slip below the horizon.

Condo location was perfect. We parked in the garage and didn't use the car the entire week. The condo is very comfortable and had everything we needed. The large pool was exactly what we were looking for (but it was not heated for the season yet and we experienced below average temps for the week). The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were great. Can't wait to come back. We appreciate the speedy communication with Historic Hideaways.

Great for our family of 4; 2 adults and 2 teens. The rooms were large and the living area had a great comfy couch that was good for all four of us to lounge on. The neighborhood is nice and quiet while being a hop away from Mallory Square. We used the pool every day and were happy that they provided plenty of towels. We would stay in this condo again for sure.
Great Condo in a very nice location.

Great Condo in a very nice location. We arrived by air and took a taxi to Historic Hideaway office. The taxi was somewhat expensive; next time I would Uber. The condo was big and nicely decorated, just perfect for our family of four. The couch was big and comfy for all four of us. There were plenty of towels and beach towels. We were happy to have the washer and dryer since it was so hot the week we were there. The pool was not visible from the back door so we thought the next door pool was ours at first (tip--go out the back and keep left for the condo pool). We did enjoy a trip to the pool nearly each day. We rented bikes and parked them right outside next to Truman White House. Unfortunately one of our bikes was stolen and we notified the security at the gate. We had a great stay and I would stay there again for sure. One small issue--At check out we needed to leave our luggage. Check out was at 11 so we got to the office then but no one was there yet. If I had known that in advance I would have asked for noon checkout so we would not have to wait for someone to come(he did come early which helped).

First, the individuals at Historic hideaways are very friendly and professional. The property is centrally located in the Truman Annex, and it is within walking distance of all the major attractions. The unit is tastefully decorated, very roomy and well maintained. The bedrooms are ideally located to give maximum privacy. The unit includes EVERYTHING you will need for your stay with the exception of personal toiletries and of course food. There were plenty of towels, including beach towels, and the kitchen was fully stocked with all appliances, and cleaning supplies. Please be forewarned that the unit does overlook the Truman Annex, thus there were days where some noisy property maintenance took place after 9:00 AM. Luckily for us we were early risers.

The condo was clean and within walking distance to activities which was great for our two week visit. Pool was inviting and friendly. The Condo view was blocked by another building and daily cruise ships. We had to stretch to make the expected supplies(dish soap, laundry soap, body soap, toilet paper, etc.) last for a two week stay.
MANAGER RESPONSE:
Dianne, Thank you for your valuable feedback. I would like to comment on the supplies provided, since it will be valuable to future Guests. The following is taken directly from the Pre-Arrival e-mail all Guests receive: To lessen the stress of preparing and packing for your trip, your vacation rental is stocked with a minimum of the following: All linen and towels. Kitchens have kitchenware, silverware, drinkware, blenders, pots and pans and drip coffee makers. There is an iron and ironing board and at least one handheld hairdryer. We ask Housekeeping to supply the properties with all necessary cleaning items one usually needs (mop/broom/vacuum). Housekeeping also provides 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, one small bar of soap per shower, and enough paper towels, laundry soap (if applicable), dishwashing soap, and garbage bags to get you started. We always suggest that Guests get settled in first. This way you can see what the property does and doesn’t have before making your grocery list and going to the store.

The condo was awesome ~ it felt like home. The condo was honestly represented. Great spaces in living area and bedrooms. Having 2 bathrooms was great, and the two balconies were good as well. The kitchen was well appointed, and the concierge service for predelivery of beverages is a great plus. Community is quiet and secure, but within a 5 minute walk from the craziness of Key West. Pool and parking was nice to have with rental. Good communication from Historic Hideaways, quick responses as well. I would recommend this unit to anyone. A great location and stay. My only suggestion would be to perhaps have one or two outlet expansion plugs in each bedroom. There are not many outlets available, and with the advent of the necessity of charging phones and other technology this would be helpful.

The location was great. The keys were very inconvenient. We had 4 people and had to share 1 key for the promenade. They had the main door to our area unusable. You had to have too many keys to get to the areas. The blinds on the patio doors do not fit correctly so you can not hardly turn door knobs.
MANAGER RESPONSE:
Thanks for letting us know about the blinds, Allen. We'll send someone to look at them. (Can't do anything about all those keys and limited pool gate ones...or the main area access...much to our chagrin. That's all HOA and out of our control, unfortunately!)
Beautiful condo, very well maintained, and excellent location.

Banana Key is the perfect place to stay in Key West for 2 couples of a family of 4. Within walking distance to Duval St, piers, and a plethora of shops and restaurants. We never used our car the entire week we were there. The condo was very clean, nice amenities, open and bright. The complex had a very nice pool overlooking the harbor that we thoroughly enjoyed. Would definitely stay here again. Historic Hideaways was wonderful to work with too!

The check-in service was great and very easy compared to other management companies. This unit was nicely decorated and equipped with nearly anything a family would need with the addition of more space than most 2BR units in the Annex. As a bonus, it is much closer to walk to most north end attractions. Recommend!

Our spacious condo was beautifully decorated and in a perfect location for our stay in Key West to attend the festivities planned for our daughter's wedding, held on Sunset Pier. We loved the swimming pool and the plush beach towels provided. The beds were extremely comfortable, and extra pillows & blankets were available. There was plenty of closet and drawer space to unpack and settle in. The kitchen was nice, but the dishes were not microwave safe and the mugs were pitted. The master shower head had low pressure that it was difficult to rinse shampoo from long hair. These criticisms are meant only for your awareness. Overall, we loved the accommodations and would return.
MANAGER RESPONSE:
Thanks Sheryl! We'll have maintenance look at the mugs and master bath shower head...most likely clogged if pressure was fine elsewhere.

The location of our unit was ideal. We didn't need to rent a car and easily walked through old town Key West. It was lovely to have such a nice kitchen to make breakfast and a light lunch. The washer and dryer were ideal as we were traveling with our preschooler. We had a great stay and look forward to coming back soon!
