Property Description
Here are some tips to help you plan the perfect vacation. First, book tickets to Key West. Shop for flipflops, shorts and other clothing. Third, book La Isla Vita to host your stay. This two-story, three-bath, two-bedroom home has everything you would expect. The "then-some", which includes private off-street parking, the house’s masterful design and an outside deck, a balcony on the second story, a screened porch, and one the most inviting pools on the island, is the first. The house is located just blocks from the Atlantic Ocean.
The street is hidden by tropical foliage, which covers the house from the street. It stretches beyond the second story and into a bright, endless-summer sky. The property is surrounded by a white picket fence that is emblematic of the island. A brick path leads to the front porch, and the entrance once you have passed the brick driveway.
The foyer opens to a foyer with a polished hardwood staircase and terra cotta tile flooring. To the left is a large living room with ocean blue decorative tones. This living room is made of hardwood and has a botanically-inspired area rug. It is topped with an artist's coffee table. The large couch is ideal for viewing a flatscreen TV mounted on dark wood cabinets across the room. If someone happens to be in the area, the couch can also be used as a queen pull-out sofa bed. The door to the guest half bath is located on another wall. Roman shades in white canvas serve as window coverings or wall accents. Two comfortable armchairs offer additional seating. A wall of French doors runs along the far end of this room. It provides plenty of ambient light and views of the gas grill, cocktail table and deck beyond. You have central AC, high speed internet, and cable TV available. Ceiling fans are a great way to circulate the air and add beauty and style.
The foyer's right side houses a fully functional kitchen that can be used to prepare gourmet meals, warm leftovers, or even grill some fresh-caught fish. Everything was planned in advance. The foyer's terracotta tile is carried through to the kitchen. It is a perfect complement to the honey hardwood cabinets, marbled granite with veins in brown, black, or buff. The inside dining area is located at the far end. The table has four chairs and is made of beautiful, expandable glass. This area is lit by a chandelier and windows, which provide warm lighting day and night. The laundry closet, which houses a stacked washer and dryer as well as shelves for supplies, is located in a corner of the room. A door leads to the screened-in porch from this area. This area, along with the deck off the living space, provide ample outdoor living space that is so important in island life. The porch has a small table, chairs, and a couch.
The bedrooms are located back inside, up the grand staircase, and to the right. To the right is a master bedroom with a king bed and full bathroom. To the left is a second bedroom with twin beds. These can be used separately or together to make a second king-sized bed. This bedroom also features an en-suite full bath. Both rooms are well-appointed with ample storage for hanging or folding items. Both rooms have lots of windows that let in sun or moonlight. There is also a door between them that opens onto the second-story balcony, where you can sit and take in the views from the treetops.
One of the bedrooms has a sign that says, "Life Is Good." This idea is echoed throughout the living space, including the large, climate-controlled pool, which is only available to the houses in the compound. The water shimmers blue and is surrounded by beautiful trees. This creates a tropical oasis just outside your door. You can relax in one of the chairs, ou in one the chez lounges, and enjoy the sun or float in the pool.
You shouldn't rush, because no one is allowed to rush on a tropical island. But at some point you'll have time to explore the area and beyond. You'll be able to find Simonton Street just a block away. This street runs the entire length of the island. Turn left to find the Atlantic Ocean, and turn right to find the Gulf of Mexico. Two blocks down is Duval Street, the famous street in Key West. Here you will find the famous Key West attractions: tours, beaches and museums, shopping, bars and many restaurants, some with open-air seating and others right on the water. You should check your phone for sunset times to avoid missing the daily celebration at Mallory Square, on the Gulf of Mexico. This is where everyone, including children and visitors, gathers to watch the sun sink into the horizon, and to cheer as the last bit of fiery orange fades. Most people stay on the dock to enjoy live music, street performers, jewelry and art vendors, as well as food and drink carts.
A guidebook from Books & Books, Eaton Street, or a visit to the Chamber of Commerce Information Center on Greene Street can help you make the most of your first trip to Conch Republic. You can also find information on the Key West Citizen, the local newspaper, and the calendar section of milezerokeywest.com.
