Family get away - San Jose/Gilroy

My adult kids joined me for an annual family get together, this year in South Lake Tahoe. This cabin is in one of my favorite South Lake Tahoe neighborhoods. Although dated and small, this cabin offered plenty of charm and amenities to provide a comfortable stay for the 6 of us. We loved the meadow to lake trail at the end of the street and the spacious backyard with the tall pines. Our two dogs were welcomed by the neighboring trails and grassy backyard as well. The hot tub was an added benefit and large enough for us to soak after a day's hike. We loved the kitchen with a well stocked supply of plates, pots and pans as we cooked many meals there. The washer and dryer were not super dependable, which was of little concern with the other perks.

This property accommodated our group MUCH better than we expected. The master bedroom with the king bed was upstairs next to the loft bedroom with the bunk beds, with a nice bathroom in between. Our young daughter got to sleep close to her parents, so we were all happy on that account. Our teenage nephew came with us, so he had the downstairs queen-sized bed bedroom with a bathroom next to it, so he got his privacy. The layout of the house was small, but the space was utilized so well, it felt spacious and cozy at the same time. The kitchen was big and stocked with cooking/eating utensils. The backyard was a lot more beautiful than the pictures showed. There were flowers blooming around the yard, wild strawberry plants, and the fence offered a lot of privacy. Bring outdoor sports equipment (football, badminton, etc) because it's the perfect yard for it. The hot tub was huge and perfect, one of the most comfortable ones I've ever sat in. We used it every day. The front porch was big, and I hung out there more than I thought I would. There was a freak summer thunder/lightening/hail storm while we were there, and I sat on the porched and watched the weather happen. The property a 10-15 minute walk to one of the beaches. It was too crowded for us, as it's a smaller beach. We didn't bother exploring another beach, because we found that the property is a 5 minute walk away from a trail through the Lake Tahoe marshlands, which, through my 40 years of coming to Tahoe, I never knew about! The views there are breathtaking. It was magical. Great property. I highly recommend it. Also, the people at Lake Tahoe Accommodations were delightful to deal with. They were so nice and patient. I asked a million questions via email before the vacation date, and I received an immediate response every time. Our check-in was late because the cleaning service wasn't done yet, and they were so apologetic and did everything they could to get us in as soon as they could. They give you coffee and a surprisingly lovely bottle of wine upon check-in, so to make up for our late check-in (it was only an hour. We went for a nice lake walk during that time.) we got an extra bottle of wine. I will definitely rent through Lake Tahoe Accommodations the next time we stay there.

We really enjoyed our stay. Lake Tahoe Accommodations made us feel welcomed and provided extra perks that we enjoyed! This included a nice bottle of wine, coffee, and a lot of extra, clean linens and towels. The staff were really sweet, responsive to our needs, and flexible.

Perfect house for our weekend getaway. We took advantage of a sports free weekend with our teens and let them each bring a friend. Kids liked being able to walk to the beach and shops and of course, the hot tub. The trails and the meadow were really pretty. Booking online was easy, checking in at the office was convenient. One of the bedrooms is a loft, but it worked for us, just wanted to let others know.
