Matterhorn, near Lake Harmony, is purpose-built for the kind of trip where three generations share one roof and everyone finds their own floor in it. Four levels in total, which include a game room with a bar and its own fireplace below, two king master suites tucked at the very peak of the A-frame above. Guests enjoy a beautiful stone fireplace beneath a three-story vaulted ceiling, giving all guests plenty of breathing room. With 11 queen beds and two king beds with their own en-suite bathrooms, this new construction home surrounded by nature is the perfect blend of comfort and scenery for couples or peer group trips.

The Heart of the Home

The main level runs kitchen, dining, and living in a single open stretch so whoever is cooking stays in the conversation. The chef's kitchen handles the math of feeding 28: two refrigerators, two ovens, two dishwashers, granite countertops, and a beverage fridge. The long wooden dining table seats 12; the breakfast bar behind it fits seven more, so the full group sits down together. The living area is anchored by that stone fireplace with multiple seating areas and a large flat-screen TV mounted over the mantel. The whole-house sound system carries music from the kitchen out to the deck.

Downstairs, the game room runs on its own schedule. A second fireplace, a professional pool table, a multicade arcade system, and a full game room bar. Close the door and two entirely different groups can occupy the house at the same time without negotiating the remote.

Outdoor Living

The deck runs across the back on two levels, both with picnic tables, so the group can eat and gather outside without the chair shortage that sends half the party back inside. The hot tub sits tucked under the second-floor deck; the fire pit anchors the yard for after-dark; the Weber handles group dinners from the upper level. The lot is a short walk from Lake Harmony.
