The River Get-Away is your home base for mountain ambiance and river adventure! Perched on a hilltop over the New River, this cozy, pet-friendly cabin offers great outdoor spaces and a perfect central location near the New River State Park.

The home has two large decks, as well as a private balcony off each bedroom. You’ll love spending time on these decks, soaking in the view and communing with Nature. Chill with a beverage and a good book, or entertain friends, all with a view of the New River. The front deck features a gas grill and an outdoor table for dining al fresco. Below the deck, nestled among the boulders of the mountainside, you’ll also find a big, bubbling hot tub, ready to melt away the exertions of High Country exploration. When night sets in, the view moves upward, to the dome of diamond-like stars.

After a relaxing soak, come inside and snuggle around the cabin’s floor-to-ceiling fireplace, outfitted with convenient gas logs. The interior of the home offers an open floor plan, helping you commune with your fellow vacationers and the family dog! The living area has comfy seating around the fireplace and TV. The compact kitchen is outfitted with all the dining accessories you’ll want for home-cooked meals. There is seating for 4 at the peninsula counter, as well as a dining table with room for 3, and of course additional dining opportunities on the deck.

At the end of an eventful day, you’ll be pleased to find the master bedroom on the cabin’s main level. It features a queen-sized Sleep Number Deluxe Pro and its own TV, as well as quick access to the upgraded bathroom. If you’ve been dreaming of bathing in a jacuzzi clawfoot tub, you’ve come to the right place! The bathroom also boasts a separate shower, with lovely custom tilework and rainfall shower head. In the morning, step onto your private balcony and wake up to sunshine and fresh air.

There’s a second bedroom upstairs for friends, also offering a queen bed, TV, and private balcony. Other convenient features of the home include central air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a washer and dryer on the main level, and a beautiful gated entrance for privacy and security.

Nestled in the center of Ashe County, the River Get-Away is just a couple minutes from the New River State Park and 10 minutes from historic downtown West Jefferson. In beautiful downtown West Jefferson you’ll find restaurants and shopping, including antique stores and art galleries. Sample the local crafts and harvests at the Ashe County Farmers Market, or watch cheese being made at the world-famous Ashe County Cheese Factory. Craft beer is brewed in town at Boondocks and the New River Brewery, and fine dining is available at Craft Bistro. There’s even a movie theater. This is small-town Americana at its finest.
