Enjoy this totally renovated and redecorated two story, four bedroom townhouse complex with central air throughout. Located directly on Yal-Ku lagoon in North Akumal, it is close by the beaches at Half Moon Bay and Akumal Bay.
Blue Tang is ideal for individual adults or couples from the same family or groups of adult friends traveling together. This luxurious townhouse offers privacy but convenient access to the lagoon, the ocean, nearby restaurants, and the many activities in and around Akumal.
Sleep in comfort in your bedroom suite with a king-size bed and large windows overlooking the lagoon. Located on the second floor, each bedroom has its own separate air conditioning and bathroom with sink, toilet and shower. (Maximum occupancy is eight adults - please see the listing for French Angel if you are traveling with children).
The ground floor contains the living room dining room, kitchen, bath, and laundry areas. The spacious living room areas include comfortable furniture and patio doors looking over the lagoon. The flat screen TVs are attached to a satellite with US content. Open WiFi Internet connection is available at no cost. The open transition from the living rooms to the dining areas adds to the feeling of spaciousness. The dining areas includes a table for six and again features patio doors looking over the lagoon.
With the fully equipped kitchens, you can choose to fix your own meals, go out to any of the area restaurants, or hire your caretaker, to fix you some special dinners you are sure to remember.
Walk out a few steps from the patio directly to your private access to the lagoon. Put on your snorkeling gear, turn left towards the head of the lagoon and commune with parrot fish, angel fish, sergeant fish, and many other exotic tropical fish. Turn right and swim towards the sea and you may spot a turtle or ray after the lagoon transitions to a sandy inlet. With essentially no waves, the lagoon is ideal for children and adults, and offers magnificent snorkeling for both the novice and the more experienced snorkeler.
Treat yourself to something special: go to the roof deck where you get a spectacular view of the lagoon, the ocean, and the surrounding area. You can relax on the lounge chairs and "catch the rays", or you can sit in the covered seating area if you want to enjoy the view but stay out of the sun... but best of all, you can relax in the heated rooftop pool overlooking the lagoon.
At night, turn off the lights, turn on the pool heater, relax, and admire the stars.
For larger groups, Blue Tang can be rented with other units in the Romero complex. For smaller groups, you can rent one half of the building. Please contact us for information.

My husband, daughter, her friend and I spent a glorious week at Blue Tang and had an absolutely perfect and relaxing vacation.
The property was very clean, well maintained, and unlike other vacation homes we have rented in the area, has all the amenities listed in excellent working order.
The photos do not really do the property justice as it is even more spacious and welcoming than the photos depict.
Having the Yal Ku Lagoon literally footsteps from your door make this a real hidden gem. The snorkeling is simply fantastic and we were fortunate enough to swim with turtles and even spot a massive spotted eagle ray!
The rooftop pool offers a great respite with a nice view and calming tropical breeze.
The staff genuinely care that everything is as perfect as can be for the guests and do a really great job to ensure your comfort.
We made use of the bicycles, grill and all the well stocked kitchen items to prepare our breakfast, lunches and a few dinners.
The restaurants in the area are well priced, convenient and serve a variety of options and we found the service very good.
If you are looking for a totally relaxing vacation away from the usual crowded resorts this is definitely the spot for you. We had total privacy in a beautiful location with all the comforts of home.
Needless to say we are already planning a return trip in late fall and after being home less than a week, I have 5 couples lined up for a group trip in 2010!
The only thing that could have improved our stay is if we booked for 2 weeks rather than 1.
