Property Information
Welcome to Two Morrows Cabin at Tahoe!
Our cozy cabin is perfect for a ski trip in winter or a week in the mountains and at the beach in the summer. Relax in our charming atmosphere with a touch of Scandinavian flavor in the decor.
We are located at Tahoe Cedars in Tahoma.
Outside our cabin sits on a large parcel (4 lots) so it is very private. The driveway, which accommodates 3 vehicles, is always clear of snow in winter. Decks are on three sides of our home. The back deck, which is several feet off the ground, is fenced so that small children and dogs can wander on it safely. The front deck has a picnic table and benches. You will find a BBQ grill and folding chairs available in storage areas. The side deck is covered for easy entry into the side door in winter.
Inside our cabin is 1100 sq. ft. and very comfortable. We have high speed wireless Internet. The kitchen has every kind of appliance you can imagine – coffee maker, coffee grinder (bring your own beans!) waffle iron, juicer, popcorn popper, crock pot, salad spinner, cork screw, bottle opener, electric frying pan (pancakes at the breakfast table), hand and table model electric mixers, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, and toaster. There are plenty of big pots and pans, salad bowls and casserole dishes if you are cooking for a gang. Take the hibachi outside to use it. There are also staples such as sugar, salt, pepper, spices, cooking oil, etc. in the cabinets, and of course, dishes. Cleaning supplies and extras are either under the sink or above the refrigerator. The range is electric. The stove, refrigerator and dishwasher were new in 2006.
There is a washer and dryer as well as a locker for skis and boots in the entryway.
The living room has a wood-burning stove, but there is also a forced-air gas furnace, so it's not necessary to tend a fire. The television includes a VCR, DVD player and CD player. There are many videos and DVDs. There is a radio with a tape recorder. There is a phone answering machine next to the telephone. Below the phone cabinet are several informative binders and brochures about things to do at Tahoe.
One bathroom has a tub and shower, the other has a shower. There is are hair-dryers and electric wall heaters in both bathrooms.
Alarm clocks are in the bedrooms. Extra blankets and linens are stored in the bedrooms as well. There is a cabinet with games such as Monopoly and Yatzee in the back bedroom. A chess board is available also. One bedroom has a bookcase loaded with novels, and books about things of local interest: trees, birds, flowers, local history. Writing paper is in the desk drawer. There is a box of toys for a toddler in the bedroom with the crib. There is also a booster seat, a pack for carrying a baby, and several chairs sized for the under-5 crowd.
Within walking distance, you will find a country market, a fine bistro, a pizzeria, a post office, a coffee bar, rental shops for sporting equipment and movies, and a mountain inn serving meals. Also within walking distance is our private homeowners sandy beach and pier, available to guests, with buoys that may be rented during summer.
Our neighborhood park has a playground, picnic tables, and BBQs. On summer Sundays, it offers outdoor non-denominational church services, and on Saturday nights, there are free movies suitable for children. Concerts and day camps are also scheduled during summer months. It is available to rent for receptions or parties.
Tahoma is adjacent to Sugar Pine Point State Park and the Desolation Wilderness. Emerald Bay with its Vikingsholm, D.L. Bliss State Park, and Meeks Bay are just minutes away. A bike path goes past Tahoma north to Squaw Valley or south to Meeks Bay, making a perfect all-day family bike ride. Or perhaps you'd like to hike a portion of the recently completed Tahoe Rim Trail. There is also Summer Music Festival, rodeos, arts & crafts fairs, a farmers market, fishing, horseback riding, rafting on the Truckee River, para-sailing, cruises on the lake, and many other activities.
In the winter, if you are downhill skiing or snowboarding, you'll find Ski Homewood just minutes (3 miles) away. Several other ski resorts such as Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Northstar, and Incline are also easy to reach. There are cross-country ski tracks in Sugar Pine Point State Park which you can walk to from the cabin. There is a snow park for children's activities such as sledding about 8 miles north of the cabin
Reno, NV has the nearest airport and many nighttime activities as well as major shopping centers 60 miles away.
Tahoe City, CA offers local shopping and fine dining 9 miles away.
Casinos are 17 miles away on either end of the lake at the California-Nevada state line.
Truckee, CA, which offers a peek into California's colorful history and fun local shopping, is 28 miles away.
