We have stayed in this rental for 5 years. This year we were disappointed in the cleanliness upon arrival. We were also surprised at the condition of the hose rack that was completely rusted out/falling apart and the rotting bannister (safety issues).

the location the amazing, especially with little children it was easy back and forth access. We go in the prime time due to my husband working in the school system and i must be very honest.... we paid quite a bit of money to rent this house and I would have expected it to be nicer and cleaner. The bathrooms were moldy and there was hair from past guests. The hallway bathroom has a tub and tile from the 80s an was so dingy I would not let the kids take a bath in it. I did say something and they came back and cleaned it, which helped a little, but unfortunately it didn’t fix it completely. my children took most of their showers in the outdoor one. There was also trash under the beds, behind tables and the sink in the kitchen was dirty. i cleaned it then best i could. It must just be my expectations but i would have expected for the price that the house be in better condition. With all that said, it was a great week with great weather on the beach.

We wish we had more time to spend on preparing each home during turnover so that they met our high in some cases given the short amount of time in between guests and how the property was left from prior guests, we fall short. We completely understand not wanting to leave or clean up messes on the last day of vacation, and we understand arriving guests wanting to get in ASAP. So that leaves our cleaning crew with a small window of time. We are glad you reached out and allowed us to come back and spend more time on what was missed.

We had fun and all was ok. My husband had booked this for the family and he died in March. We decided to still go. The picture is a old pic that you have to book by. Mark would have had a tuff time climbing the sand dunes for him to fish. It shows no one around and flat to the beach. This was very deceiving. This is the reason he booked it. Please update your pic so others will not get the shock we did.

we loved the location right on the beach.watched dolphins every day.all we needed was there.the small dunes in front of the house were enjoyed by the grandchildren but they did not block the marker for milepost 18.suggestion tell people to turn at sign for jp cottages and at the end on the right.

Home was adorable. Loved the proximity to the beach (oceanfront). Address was wrong, however. So when we pulled on the street (in the dark) we couldn’t initially find it. Address on front cabin but you have to keep going all the way to the ocean. Everything worked great in the home, well stocked with dishes. Got the sheets/towel option and that worked well. Dryer door would t stay closed, so wasn’t able to use that. Otherwise everything was great!

We were here in February so it was cold, but we enjoyed it immensely. Weren't pleased with the shell full of cigarette butts on the side porch. Our preceding guest must have been chain smokers. They thankfully did not smoke inside. Crib was a bit moldy, but we washed it off and it was fine. This is a wonderful place to stay when you add the beauty of the location and the media/entertainment that is readily available. Didn't need to use it much because we had the real kahuna right at our doorstep. We came for the ocean, and we were able to take ten steps to the beach and so we enjoyed it at will and from every window. The first three days, we saw no one else anywhere around the house or on the beach in either direction. What joyful, natural solitude. Bravo! Kitchen and bathrooms were fine. Heat was wonderful. We would stay here again! Everything you need store and restaurant wise is no more that ten minutes away. Have been coming to the OBX for forty years and have stayed all up and down and different style properties. This took me back to some of the times when we stayed in more traditional houses with fewer bells and whistle but with traditional outer banks charm and style. After all- it's all about the beach, and our two year old got to live right on it for a week, and she loved it and so did we.

This is a great house and the views are just what you look for with an ocean front place. The new chairs made sitting on the porch something that we looked forward to every evening and morning. The beach is right there and you do not have to travel up and down massive flights of stairs! I stayed here two years in a row.

We had a wonderful week! The house is right there on the beach. Lovely back deck to sit and watch the waves and dolphins. Back deck is enclosed so you can let your dog out and not worry. Bedrooms are painted bright, fun colors. Kitchen is well stocked with accessories, right down to wine glasses. There are beautiful ocean views from two of the three bedrooms. There is a very welcoming Catholic Church just up the road! Only con was the screened deck. It could definitely use some work! We hope to be able to stay again!

We have been coming here for a number of years and have finding it getting shabbier as time goes on. Great location and comfortable small space. New owner made some much needed repairs but it remains less than ideal. Railing to side porch were so rotten and shaky that they were dangerous, outside shower still has no hook to hang a towels don't all open and most blinds don't work so are stuck either up or down.

Loved the location. Easy access to the beach. Much more beach so it didn't seem crowded.
Wish I could be that excited about the cottage. We had to sweep up the sand and shake the rugs before we could move any of our things in. We had to remake our beds because the sheets were not put on correctly. I also found items that were left from a pryor renter between the bed and the wall. These would have surely been found had housekeeping done a better job on their end.
We also found dirty dishes in the dishwasher. I feel that we should get paid for leaving a cleaner place for the next renter.
Other that those items, we had an amazing time.

House was great. Nothing wrong. Just a couple admin things I wanted to point out. The WiFi information is wrong on the check in packet and at the property. I call the office and they had updated information. Just didn’t make it to the packet. Instructions said to put trash in trash bin and roll it down to the road. There was no trash bin to roll down but there is a dumpster by the road, so no issue but can be confusing.

Can’t wait to visit again.

There were a couple of things we were disappointed on. The screen doors were absolutely dirty and rusty, On the screen porch it was covered in sand and a whole lot of equipment and stuff on it, not leaving much room. The screen was not on the door going out to the deck. Inside the house was good. Beds were nice. Kitchen had anything you needed, well stocked.

My sister and I and our children stayed in "It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere" two separate years and loved it. The proximity to the beach was perfect and the deck and screened porch provided wonderful outdoor space to take in the ocean every minute. We always said how perfect the cottage would be for our mom to join us some year. Easy access and and two full baths. It finally happened in 2016! Our 87 year old mother was game to join us for a wonderful week in August. We loved the new beachy color palette and the views were breathtaking as always. The cottage has everything we could ask for. What a joy to finally share our little slice of OBX paradise in South Nags Head. We feel so fortunate to have had this week and are making plans to return next summer- and Mom is in again!

OUR STAY WAS WONDERFULL.THE WEATHER WAS GREAT IN THE HIGH 80'S ALL WEEK.THE COTTAGE WAS EVERYTHING WE HAD HOPED FOR AND RIGHT ON THE BEACH.I LOVED THE ROOM COLORS TO MATCH THE MARGARITAVILLE THEME.THE MOON WAS FULL AND THE OCEAN FRONT DECK GAVE A GREAT VIEW.I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS COTTAGE.

I have a small surviving family and this house is perfect for the family yearly reunion. love it's closenest to the ground and being right on the water and Sand.love to watch the birds and the Dolphins off of the back deck and beach. It's close to restaurants and and attractions makes it perfect to have things to do off the beach as well.

The beach house is perfect if you are looking for an oceanfront experience that allows you the most beautiful sunrises possible . The house was furnished well and very clean and the Margaritaville theme was very appropriate. We have already booked the house for next year and will be looking forward to Nags Head once again for our vacation.

OBX was a bucket list item and this experience lived up to it's expectations. From the ease of setting up the rental through check out. Cottage was exactly as expected. A relaxing and beachfront pleasure. More of the throwback experience we were looking for, not over the top.
