Welcome to River Mill Lodge. This cabin sits on a large lot with access to a huge Watauga River frontage which is known for its trout fishing and small mouth bass. There is also a beautiful pond and picnic area JUST FOR YOU!!! Relax and unwind from the stresses of everyday life and watch nature unfold around you. Plenty of room to explore or just SIT DOWN BY THE RIVERSIDE!!! Attention to detail can be found in this cabin’s every room as it is superbly furnished with antique furniture along with the extra accessories that will make you feel right at home. Each bedroom has it own private bath loaded with plush towels. The large Master Queen bedroom has a sliding door which leads to the deck entertainment area and the master bath has a his/hers double granite sink, a beautiful, large soaking tub, PLUS a large, tiled, walk-in shower.Custom luxury cabin with river access near Valle Crucis. Stunning view from large covered deck, soaring indoor and outdoor stone fireplaces, hot tub, ping pong...you have to see this home to believe it! Walk down to the river for fishing or to launch your kayak. Three bedrooms and three+ baths accommodates up to ten.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Main level: Master with Queen and full bath with soaking tub and walk-in shower, second bedroom King and full bath, third bedroom with two bunk beds - one with two twin and one with a twin on top and double on the bottom; powder room off living area
Upper level: Loft with sleeper sofa
This custom mountain home is something to behold. This unique luxury cabin rental has every feature that will have you just walking around and marveling at the workmanship. A beautiful rhododendron staircase leads to a huge loft which overlooks the great room and is set up for the occasional extra guest with sleeper sofa; there is also a ping pong table for indoor fun. Rustic elegance can be found throughout the home including antique chestnut beams and very high ceilings showcasing timber frame trusses.
As the wonderful summer night temperatures dip here in the mountains, enjoy dining or just take in the nature by the stone outdoor fireplace located on the full length back deck which has both open and covered areas and a grill for the delicious BBQ. So pull up a chair and rest your feet!!
The kitchen has lovely granite counters and is equipped with everything you’ll need for meal preparations. The custom dining table seats eight and the granite island equipped with bar stools accommodates additional seating. The great room has a huge stone fireplace, comfortable seating, and 52” flat screen TV. Spend some time around the table with the family and play some of our many board games. Or, step outside and enjoy a soak in the hot tub!
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Firewood may be added by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You get two wrapped bundles and a firestarter for $25/night.
- AWD/4WD and/or chains recommended during winter months for all of our mountain homes.
- There is not a fire pit at this home for guests to use. Guests absolutely may not build one per the community regulations. $500 fines will apply if a firepit is built.
- All guests must pre-register their vehicles with the neighborhood before arriving. This information will be provided to you at time of booking.
- This home is pet friendly for a Max of 2 mature, well-trained dogs. Pet rent is $25/nt per pet per night plus tax.
- To access the river and neighborhood pond, guests are asked to please only walk along the streets. Please do not cut through neighbor's private property. Thank you for helping keep the River Mill neighborhood pleasant for everyone!
- Please note that this homeowner uses a Ring doorbell cam and additional outdoor surveillance cameras to monitor their home's security. No cameras monitor the inside of the home.
Bookings canceled at least 14 days before the start of the stay will receive 100% refund, bookings canceled at least 7 days before the start of the stay will receive 50% refund

Great Mountain Vacation

Our family loved this house. It had everything we needed. It was clean and ready for us when we arrived right at 4. Location and views were outstanding. Short walk down to good fishing in the river. Short drive to Valle Crucis and a little farther to Grandfather Mountain trails. Make sure you bring firewood because you will definitely want to use the outdoor fireplace on the back deck. I'm sure we will be back.

The house and location was amazing, super private and in a gated community of 7 or less homes. The view of the cow pasture in the back was one of our favorite things to watch while drinking our coffee. The peach tree was full of peaches off the back, we were lucky to be able to reach 2 that were ripe. what an awesome treat! Plus there was a little bunny that came out in the morning and the evening that my son loved watching! The ping pong table and foosball proved to be helpful when we had a full day of rain, along with the hot tub, we spent a lot of time in the hot tub! Walking down to the river was also a fun activity we enjoyed! Great place, and not far from Boone. We also hiked Crab Orchard Falls and the waterfall at the end was beautiful. Great trip and we could def come back to this home again!

We had a great stay! The house was beautiful and the pictures were accurate. We even saw a little bit of snow and made use of the fireplace our entire stay! It was a 30 minute drive to Hawks Nest and very close to the Mast General Store and Candy Barrel. We absolutely loved and hope to make this a new yearly tradition!

River Mill Lodge was amazing!! Beautiful views and a beautiful house!! This house has everything you could possibly need. It has a very well stocked kitchen. We usually stay in a different area each year for our mountian trip, but we've decided that next year we will return to River Mill Lodge!

Over the last few years our family has fallen in love with the NC mountains. We are from Durham and try to get out there as often as we can. We've stayed in multiple towns and multiple homes and River Mill lodge has become our most favorite spot. If the owners ever consider putting the home on the market, we would love to be contacted. It is truly a special spot.

SPOTLESS place... and SPECTACULAR river, farm and mountain views from the huge back porch with fireplace! We just stayed five days in River Mill cabin and it could not have been better. (I am picky, too!) House had everything, the property was absolutely lovely, top quality everything, well-cared for, and soooo relaxing. You feel like you're disconnected from everything yet you're ten minutes from restaurants and shopping. PLUS...my husband said he'd never caught so many trout in his life! Thanks a million to the owners and caretakers. We WILL BE BACK for fall color!

Every year we (my family of 5) meet my parents around Boone, Banner Elk for Thanksgiving. This is the Best house we have rented! Its location and details are wonderful! I think our favorite part was the fireplace, it really added warmth to our stay. Thank you for building such a great lodge. I will definitely consider this home for the years to come.

We wanted a quiet get away for our 19th anniversary and boy did we get it! This was the most peaceful, beautiful place we've ever been. Everything about this home was wonderful. We were here for the first snow and it was breathtaking. Sad to leave !

Thank you for opening your home to us! My family and I take 1 week every fall and come to the mountain as a "kick off" to the cooler weather and holiday season. My children (ages 2&5) loved the bunk beds and the children's books they found in the cabinet. The cabin was the perfect backdrop to our week and a beautiful fire was the perfect ending to every day. From pumpkin picking to the apple orchard, it was a great week had by all. Thank you again and we wish you a happy holiday season.

My family and I stayed at Rivermill Lodge for our first winter vacation in the mountains. Coming from south Florida we were concerned about the safety of driving to the cabin, but we had no problems at all. The cabin was absolutely amazing, perfectly cleaned, and visually stunning. We had planned to spend time at the ski resorts but no one wanted to leave! We loved the location of the home, right near the river, with such a lovely view.
