Mariposa Butterfly Festival
The Mariposa Butterfly Festival is a fun filled family weekend that includes live butterfly releases, a parade, art and artisan shows, a butterfly hat competition, wine tasting of Mariposa, a Little Miss Butterfly and Captain Caterpillar costume competition, chalk art Competitions, and several stages of live entertainment.

Mariposa celebrates its namesake at the town’s Annual Butterfly Festival. Mariposa means Butterfly in Spanish. The 2013 Butterfly Festival will take place Friday, May 3rd, Saturday, May 4th, and Sunday, May 5th. The Festival is a Fun Filled Family Weekend that includes Live Butterfly Releases, Parade, Art & Artisan Show, Butterfly Hat Competition, Taste of Mariposa, Little Miss Butterfly and Captain Caterpillar Costume Competition, Children’s Activities, Chalk Art Competition, and Several Stages of Live Entertainment.
