Located on the edge of town in a quiet, pastoral setting, Casa Gallina's three adobe guest houses offer an oasis of home for visitors exploring the Taos area.
Spacious, charming and just a five minute drive to historic Taos Plaza, each artisan casita is decorated and appointed with furniture, art, antiques, and textiles from New Mexico, Old Mexico and the world over.
Look out the windows and there's Taos Mountain. Step outside and take in one of the clearest night skies you'll ever see. Stay in for the night and cozy up to the wood burning kiva fireplace or wood burning stove. Put your favorite music on the stereo and cook a delicious dinner in your fully equipped kitchen.
Civilization is just a click away. Each guest house offers a desktop computer with high speed DSL connection, satellite TV, and a CD/DVD player. The grounds and gardens are landscaped and grassy with areas to sit and relax. In summer, enjoy the organic vegetable garden, strawberry and raspberry patches, orchard, and colorful beds of perennial and wild flowers. Across a foot bridge over the flowing water of the Acequia Madre is Casa Gallo, where I live and am available to answer questions and tend to needs that you may have during your stay.
If you'd like to indulge for a morning or two, at an additional charge, I'll be happy to serve you a hearty breakfast in my kitchen (the eggs are organic and farm fresh from my hens on the property!). My massage studio is across the Acequia as well. Treat yourself to a deep tissue or hot stone massage while here, but please reserve early as my massage schedule fills up a few weeks in advance. Hiking, biking, rafting, skiing, snowboarding, shopping, galleries, museums and gorgeous drives are all just minutes away.

Deposits
A deposit is required equaling one-half of the entire stay (or a minimum of one night) to confirm a reservation.
Length of Stay
Two night minimum; one night stays possible based upon availability. Seasonal rates and additional minimums may apply.
Cancellations
For reservations cancelled prior to 14 days of arrival, I will refund the deposit minus a 10% administrative fee.
If cancellation is received past this date, deposit will be refunded minus a 10% administrative fee when room is rebooked.
This cancellation period also applies to changes in reservations that shorten the length of stay.
Holiday Reservations
The following holiday periods have a 21 day cancellation period and a three night minimum:
Valentine's/Presidents' Day Week, Memorial Day Weekend, Labor Day Weekend and Thanksgiving Week.
The Christmas & New Year's winter holiday period has a 45 day cancellation period.
For reservations from December 17 - 26th, 2004:
There is a five night minimum with no arrivals or departures on either Christmas Eve or Day.
For reservations December 26 - January 3rd, 2005:
There is a three night minimum with no arrivals or departures on New Year's Day. Shorter stays may become available so please inquire.

Casa Gallina’s Bantam Roost is great as a solo artist's retreat or as a romantic roost for two.
The sights, smells and tastes of my kitchen are inevitably part of any visit to my home or guesthouse.
Fresh fig scones just out of the oven. Warm apple sour cream coffee cake sitting at the center of the table. A big cup of steaming hot cappuccino. Fresh eggs sizzling in the skillet. Spicy chicken and fennel sausage and applewood smoked bacon grilling to golden brown. Fire roasted sweet red peppers with fresh basil and mozzarella. Crisp arugola salad greens picked from the garden minutes ago…
All of the ingredients that I stock in my cupboard as well as the fresh fruits, vegetables and meats that I buy in the market are organically grown and, when ever possible, are grown or made locally.
There is a beautiful organic vegetable garden on the land just outside my kitchen and we eat from it all summer, autumn and even into the winter! Zucchini, butternut and acorn squash, russian kale, ruby red and golden beets, kohlrabi, broccoli, carrots, sugar snap peas, fingerling potatoes, sweet cherry and yellow pear tomatoes, tender lettuces, delicate bitter greens, strawberries, raspberries and golden delicious apples from three trees. Curly parsley, fresh oregano, bronze fennel, lemon thyme and an unbelievably fragrant rosemary bush!
My hens are not only great egg layers, but they are beautiful birds to live with and look at as well! They’ve become part of the family here. The Buff Orpington had two chicks this past spring and is now mother to two lovely pullets. There are three Ameraucana Hens in the flock. These hens lay beautiful bluish green eggs. The Barred Plymouth Rock is about the friendliest of the bunch and loves to be held and petted, as does the New Hampshire Red! There are two pure white Leghorns and a black Astralorp, and three new members of the flock are a Dominique, a Rhode Island Red (she also loves to be touched), and a fuzzy footed Light Brahma. All the hens roam freely on the property and are fed strictly organic scraps and feed, so all the eggs that I use for breakfast and in my baking are fresh, healthy and delicious.
The breakfasts that I serve are varied and will change seasonally depending on what I find in the market and what I’m eating myself in the moment, but I am happy to accommodate anyone’s special dietary needs. Just let me know when you reserve.
