About Perdido Key
This hidden paradise is Florida's western-most island. Perdido Key is connected on the east by bridge to the city of Pensacola and to the west by bridge to Orange Beach, Alabama. Perdido Key is a fantastic 257 acre barrier island surrounded by the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, measuring in the 80's in the summer and in the 60's in the winter (Fahrenheit).
The Key was discovered by the Spanish in the 15th century and literally translates as "Lost Island." Sixty-five percent of Perdido Key is protected from development by state and federal parks. Johnson Beach - part of the federal national seashore - is only one-quarter mile from the Purple Parrot Village Resort, allowing access to some of the most magnificent white sand beaches in the world... and certainly some of the most beautiful sunsets!

5,000 Square foot (150,000 gallon) outdoor swimming pool with island jacuzzi and waterfall cave, heated indoor pool and jacuzzi, on-site rental management office.
*** The pool is open and beautiful, but due to the restoration that has been ongoing through the Perdido Key Area the owner of the Tikki Bar & Grill has chosen not to reopen as of yet. As soon notice is given we will notify all confirmed rentals and nake any necessary changes in our web listings.

We stayed for a week in Montego Bay (1B Down) and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The condo was very comfortable and nicely furnished with all amenities. The complex is well kept and quiet; it is convenient to the beach, shopping and restaurants. We will definitely return and specifically request this unit again.

The resort is a wonderful place to stay. The staff is friendly and professional at the same time. Thank you Nick and John for a wonderful vacation, hated to leave. At the same time, this place is family friendly, as well as adult friendly. To all who want and fun filled or just a lazy hang around vacation, give this place a chance. You will not regret it. We had a great time at the Purple Parrot. The villas are very nice. The beach is close and very clean had restrooms and covered areas. The pool was beautiful. It is near Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and Pensacola. There is a lot to do or you can do nothing at all. A great staff at the Purple Parrot Thanks to John and Nick. We will return hopefully soon. I had an excellent vacation at the purple parrot resort. An excellent condo to rent. I Spent my days at the beach a walk away then enjoyed a drink in the jacuzzi at the resort. Also excellent diving in this area now!! Christian

We had a great time at the Purple Parrot Village Resort in Perdido Key. We usually rent a condo in a high-rise building whenever we visit Florida. We had an entire two bedroom cottage to ourselves at the Parrot. Lots of privacy and no waiting for elevators! It was nicely decorated with lots of bright colors & tropical decor. My kids loved the huge pool with the waterfall and center island with the jacuzzi. We were about two blocks from Johnson Beach. There is seven miles of pristine beach there, so you can find your own little private stretch of beach or you can stay where the lifeguards are near the entrance. We loved our stay and will be back next summer! Jessica
