Alpenglow Chalet is a modern vacation condo set amid the serene mountain setting of Taos Ski Valley's Wheeler Peak area. Yards away from Kachina lift #4, this hideaway is the perfect place for you, your family, your friends, and anyone else you can think of! Kick back, ski, hike the famous Wheeler Peak Trail, fish, have a beer at the Bavarian Log House down the street or simply relax in one of Taos Properties most popular Taos Ski Valley vacation rentals.
Light the fireplace, brew a pot of coffee, and laze around with a good book while the others hit the slopes. The glow of this living room will have others hurrying home to be with you! The modern kitchen, with granite countertops, gas range, oven, microwave, dishwasher, full sized refrigerator and all the cooking tools you need will help you feed an army... or just reheat your food from the Bavarian Lodge up the road.
With hundreds of pristine acres of Wilderness Area just outside the door, the opportunity for fun is limitless. Wake up and survey the conditions on the Kachina lift just out the window. Or put on snow shoes (or even cross-country skis) and hike less than an hour to picturesque Williams Lake, surrounded by New Mexico's highest mountains. Don't want to cook? We're the closest to New Mexico's most famous German restaurantt- the Bavarian Lodge! Enjoy their delicious food or just a large mug of their great beers or wines- it's a short walk away. The photos speak for themselves! We're confident you'll find something for everyone at the Alpenglow Chalet.
Summer activities include hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing, whiteriver rafting/kayaking, Taos Ski Valley Summer Music Festival in August and/or September and enjoying the cool mountain nights. Located just a stone's throw (2 minute walk) to Williams Lake Trail Head for the awesome Taos Mountain Hike to Williams Lake.
Maximum number of guests is 10 including 6 adults and 4 children. There are two elegant bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first floor. The loft sleeps an additional 6 people in a double bed, a traditional bunk, and a single/double bunk. There are 8 separate beds for sleeping up to 8 singles separately. You can also find a cozy sitting area and TV/DVD with more than 100 channels up in the loft.
During summer and off-season Wheeler Peak 205 (Alpenglow Chalet) rates are discounted for lodging where summer temperatures are the coolest in all of New Mexico. Call for details. There is a heated single garage for condo guests to use.
There are no ticket sales at the base of the Kachina Chair, they are only sold at the main base area. Ski down the "Rubezahl" Run to the main base to get your tickets for the day. An even better option is to buy your multiday pass before you drive up to the condo so you can skip the crowds and get right on the Kachina Chair."
Taos standard for "Ski in Ski Out" indicates one does not have to get in their car to reach the slopes, but rather that lifts and runs can be reached by a relatively short walk and/or pole.

| Other Policies: RESERVATIONS: Are confirmed & property is taken off market when contract is completely filled in, received by Premiere and funds are on deposit. 50% deposit is to be paid by check. Balance can be paid by check or Master Card/Visa and is due 30 days before arrival (60 days Xmas/NY’s, Spring Break and reservations of 14 or more nights). When paying by Credit Card, balance will automatically be charged on appropriate date and guest does not need to contact us to make payment.
CHECK IN: Check-in is anytime after 4:00 pm Check-out is no later then 10:00 am so housekeeping can be ready for next party arrival at 4:00 pm.
CANCELLATION POLICY: More than 30 days before arrival (60 days Xmas/NY’s, Spring Break, and reservations of 14 or more nights) cancellation fee is 21% of total reservation. Less than 30 days before arrival, (60 days Xmas/NY’s, Spring Break, and reservations of 14 or more nights) forfeiture of 100% of full reservation unless property is rebooked for entire stay at same rate. If booked for less, refund portion will be prorated (less the 21% cancellation fee). There are no refunds for late arrival or early departure.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Each property has a private caretaker to assist guests with maintenance issues, lost keys, directions, etc. Guest is to contact caretaker for such issues. If there is an urgent matter and caretaker does not respond with 30 minutes guest should then call Premiere at 505-758-1811 - direct or 800-987-8423 and follow the prompts.
DEPARTURE: Property is to be left in good order by following the printed guidelines in each home. Should the guidelines be missing common sense should rule. Should property be left in poor order please read “SECURITY DEPOSIT” below. GUEST POLICY: Should there be more overnight guests (including children) other than number disclosed in contract (other than prior approved visits) the party will be required to immediately vacate the premises without refund and full security deposit will be forfeited. If a large party gathers without prior disclosure to “Premiere” the full security deposit shall be forfeited and party will immediately terminate.
SECURITY DEPOSIT: Should damages (see direction sheet for partial explanation of possible damages) or extra cleaning occur, your credit card will be charged $500.00 dollars plus a $25.00 dollar non-refundable service charge. A check for $500.00 will be sent to the Homeowner along with guest name, address and phone number, and damage issues will be handled directly with the Homeowner, caretaker & guest. Prorated refund will be returned directly by Homeowner. Evidence of unauthorized pets or smoking in the house will result in forfeiture of full security deposit. Premiere Properties will be held harmless and will not be involved in damage negotiations.
WAIVER OF LIABILITY: Properties are privately owned & cared for. Premiere Properties is acting as Reservation Service only for the use of the subject property. For homes with hot tubs, the renter understands the risks of hot tub/Jacuzzi use, and recognize that for some people adverse reactions can occur, including but not limited to skin rash. Neither Premiere Properties, nor the Owner or their Agents will be held liable or responsible for personal injury, accidents, loss of life, valuables or personal property due to fire, theft, neglect, or any catastrophe or natural disaster which might occur at the above named property during the above stated time period. If this property becomes unavailable, due to unforeseen circumstances, Premiere Properties will do all possible to move party to an equal or upgraded option.
PAYMENT: All funds due within 30 days of arrival (60 days Christmas, New Year, Spring Break and reservations of 14 or more days). 50% deposit of total reservation due by check within 7 days of booking. Deposits by check not received within 7 days of booking will be automatically run on credit card on 8th day + 5% surcharge.
