This remarkable small hotel is of intimate design with only six, unique beachfront accommodations created for the discerning traveler. Live for a while in vibrant, art-filled private rooms and apartments. If this is to be your first visit, do plan ahead! After five or six times at Sin Duda Villas, guests know to reserve in advance. Hopefully, you will too!
In imaginative style, each innovative habitation is presented with Mexican tile floors, splashed with bright colors, locally cut Yucatan stone, hand-hewn furniture of original design, and soaring rooftop decks for UFO-watching and stargazing.
The commitment to ecological preservation is manifested by use of solar energy (24-hr electricity), starlight navigation and collection of precious rainwater through intricate gathering systems, stored in voluminous underground cisterns. Thus, each villa remains in tune with the fragile and perfect jungle environment.
Sin Duda Villas, Xcalak, Quintana Roo, now known as The Costa Maya, was designed by its owner. The buildings reflect his appreciation of Mayan simplicity of form, with a little whimsy tossed in, here and there.
Each room has purified water, arrays of art, craft and concocted collections to amuse and entertain. A healthy breakfast is provided. There is daily housekeeping, sugary sand beaches and the host's famous "Margoritas" presented at sundown. Sin Duda is family- and pet-friendly, with references galore.
For dinner, steam a fresh lobster, or walk on moonlit beach to a nearby restaurant; relax in hand-woven wicker chairs, or dream on comfy beds with sumptuous cotton sheets and sun fresh towels. Although situated in primitive Mexico, they maintain a frugal elegance.
