Hakuna Matata offers plenty of space for the whole family to relax and spread out. On the first floor, there is a queen-sized bedroom and bathroom along with a large dining and living area. The dining table is built-in and comfortably seats 12 people. Upstairs, there are four themed bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. There is a front porch and rockers, and a large deck and screened-in porch with additional dining. The entire property is surrounded by palmettos. The bedding upstairs includes 1 Queen bed, 1 queen bed, 1 queen bed, and 3 twin beds. In 2020, all three bathrooms were renovated and a new area for outdoor showers was installed. We have books, games and puzzles. We also have movies, kites, and kites. A 2 person kayak is available for exploring the creek. There are also 2 golf carts that can accommodate 4 people. A charcoal grill, beach chairs, and toys are also provided. Our home is centrally located, and only a 5-minute golf cart ride away from the beach, the creek pool, the market and the lighthouse.
We cannot guarantee that the ice maker or water dispenser will be operational in the rental.

We stay at Hakuna Matata every Summer! We enjoy the spacious floor plan, the screen porch, two golf carts and convenient location. If we ever need anything the management team is always super responsive. See you all again next year!
Great Island Get Away!

Hakuna Matata on Bald Head Island was one of the nicest homes we have stayed in on the island for vacation from numerous trips to Bald Head. The layout of the home was great for our large family, including the configuration of rooms, the dining and eating area, kitchen, screened porch, etc. The kitchen had everything you would need. In addition, the carts, bikes, chairs, etc were excellent and all very useful during our stay. Everything was just great and we had a wonderful week.

Hakuna Matata on Bald Head Island was one of the nicest homes we have stayed in on the island for vacation from numerous trips to Bald Head. The layout of the home was great for our large family, including the configuration of rooms, the dining and eating area, kitchen, screened porch, etc. The kitchen had everything you would need. In addition, the carts, bikes, chairs, etc were excellent and all very useful during our stay. Everything was just great and we had a wonderful week.
No Worries!

The house was a bit tight for 8-9 adults, but meal seating was great!! It shows a bit of wear and tear, but that comes with allowing pets, I suppose (pets gave it a 5 paw rating!, so that was OK with us! Great to have plenty of games and a crib and high chair for the baby. Both carts worked but one is in perpetual slow motion. Good location for us, as we wanted to be near the marina. Good showers, adequate supplies in the kitchen for cooking, plenty of plates, glasses and flatware. Enjoyed using the bikes! Appreciate being allowed to rent this house on short notice! We had a fun Memorial Day weekend!! One disappointment was that there was not a copy of The Lion King at the house!
