ADDRESSING CORONAVIRUS CONCERNS:

Beachnest Vacation Rentals has always focused on delivering professionalism and exceptional customer service to travelers visiting Santa Cruz County. During this time of uncertainty in the travel market, we want to bring to light some of the advantages of staying in a vacation rental. For our friends within driving distance, this means being able to drive to the coast in the comfort of your own vehicle, prepare your meals in a well-provisioned kitchen, and sleep in your own private vacation home, thereby avoiding more communal environments. Cleanliness and safety in our homes is always our number one priority, and I want to personally assure you that we have expanded our already strict cleaning protocols and added additional housekeeping staff to take extra precautions between guests. We are sanitizing all high touch surfaces such as door knobs, light switches, faucets, and handles and opening windows and doors to allow fresh salt air to circulate, and we have outfitted each rental with disinfectants that can be used by guests that are in-house.

Testimonials

Respite from the world
Kristin Stayed with us Dec 2020
We really enjoyed our stay at Bay Watch. The cozy living room with the roaring fire and the early morning walks on the beach was perfect for our family. The kitchen is well equipped and the dining table is large enough for a crowd. Couldn't be a better location! The kids walked down the beach and played volleyball.

The one nice thing about 2020
Elizabeth Stayed with us Nov 2020
We stayed here partly because one of us is a first responder for the Covid19 pandemic, we were evacuated from Bodega Bay because of the fire and beach nest had the only 2 properties that would accept us with our dogs. Otherwise we would not have spent the fifteen thousand dollars for the three weeks. We had no choice. If we hadn't been b stack b between a rock and a hard plac we never would have known a heaven on earth to this extent. We had to stay local also, because we were looking for permanent housing and everything was getting filled fast. The place we originally booked with beachnest didn't have direct beach access but beach nest moved us to thevBay Watch property because the place we booked was having work done on it and it wasn't fit for lodging. We are very lucky they put us in this place. Being in town in this haven during this pandemic kept us safely sheltered in place while allowing us to find permanent housing. Every single day held a different piece of heaven. The sun rise boasts a majestic view of the ocean and a cliff with a bonsai shaped tree. The moon rise was equally stunning. Some mornings an ethereal mist would unfold from the shorelines. Somedays a light breeze would shift the sands into the semblance of a Salvidore Dali Surrealist live painting. I grew up and spent my life here in this town off and on so I'm well aware that this particular part of the shoreline is the cleanest in Santa Cruz because its the closest to the ranger station. This has also been the least populated of all the beaches in town so it makes the experience exquisite for someone like me who enjoys the peaceful space away from crowds but also enjoys randomly bumping into my writer friends. This is the perfect writer's retreat. There's a peacefulness in this area of this town. Even the homeless folks that sleep on the stairs through the night were quiet, kind conscientious and seemed to be more at peace than in any other part of town. I was barefoot on this beach in this water every single day. If my wetsuit wasn't in storage or if this place had one I would have swam daily and swore to you that this place is in fact heaven. We got to see one of the great white sharks from the new pod that was close by. This kind of warmth in November might become the new normal. Many days it was in the 70s or felt like it because the cove is less windy than other shores. Some people didn't even wear sweatshirts. Watch out for hyperdermic needles on the shore and on the stairs. Even though its the nicest beach this reality at this time is still one of mass homelessness and addiction in this beloved town. I felt lucky to get to have part of my shelter in place with two decks overlooking the sea, a fireplace that was so warm during the storms, and a kitchen table with the view of the sunset and the bench on the cliff. My Godbrother out of state died with Covid complications during our stay here so the stark value of being safely tucked in a serene place felt like a matter of life and death. Surviving is nothing to scoff at and I know I was safe from the virus here even if it means that things might be tight financially for a while. Watching these locals from area celebrate the change in presidency by dancing on the beach felt amazing! Cheers literally rang through these little beach streets at 9 am that morning. This place offers connected feelings and sweet solitude at the same time. At the risk of sounding woo woo, I'm just going say the energy of this place was the nicest of every place I stayed. We had to stay in quite a few places this year. I felt like this is somewhere that was very well cared for and that made me very lucky because the lodging in this town this year has been pretty run down due to cuts in staffing. What a happy little pocket of heaven. This town is my favorite place in the world. I've stayed all through America and visited most of our continent but I've never been privileged enough to afford world travel. So from my basis of comparison this was the best place in the world. I felt Like I was on a ship and I love boats. I don't know if I will ever have an experience like this again. I loved the simple yet sturdy and comfortable furniture. I felt safely and securely held as covid reached code level purple the highest in all the pandemic days. No wiggly desks or broken anything in this house, just sturdy and secure safety. We were also so happy to have actual stable internet and hot water Alot of good decent places didn't have that! It makes a difference! I wish I could stay longer and when the extension was offered I cried because I wanted to stay more days. This place for the 3 weeks cost more than my car and more than I get in my disability retirement checks in an entire year so even though I couldn't afford to extend my stay, I'm never going to forget my time at bay watch beach house. Thank you for letting us be here. I have a memory now that will last my lifetime. Thanks to being in town, We found permanent housing that we will be able to access by the end of December. Part of that is because of beachnest being the only place at that particular moment that would take us with our pets.
