New River Lure is a charming three-level mountain cabin with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, located on the South Fork of New River, between Boone & West Jefferson. This cabin is approximately 20 miles away from Boone. It's less than 8 miles to West Jefferson and less than 9 miles to Jefferson. The cabin is close to many amenities and fun High Country activities. This cabin is located just a few minutes away from Highway 421, which makes it easier for guests to reach from Charlotte, Raleigh and other east areas. From the cabin guests can walk to New River for fishing, tubing, or rafting. Drop off your friends with their rafts in many nearby locations. You can also drive to a pickup spot a few minutes away and spend an afternoon rafting on the New River. Many nearby guiding companies can help you prepare for tubing, kayaking, or rafting. There are many options available for guided fly-fishing and reel-fishing to catch native and released smallmouth bass and trout. Snow tubing, snowboarding, ice skating, and snow skiing are available at Appalachian Ski Mountain (30 miles), Sugar Mountain Ski Resort 40 miles, and Beech Mountain Ski Resort 47 miles away. Hawksnest is a snowtubing facility located on Seven Devils, less than 40 miles away. Hawksnest offers zipline tours in the warmer months. Tweetsie Railroad is approximately 28 miles from Hawksnest. Grandfather Mountain is only 38 miles away. The cabin is approximately 30 miles away from Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis and Valle Crucis. Jefferson and Wilkesboro offer a variety of fun activities. New River Acres has some great hiking and walking paths. The cabin is adorable! The cabin has 3 bedrooms and 5 sleeping areas. Four of the sleeping areas are beds, and one is a sleeper couch. The main floor features vaulted wood ceilings, tongue-in groove walls and floors as well as large, bright windows. The great room has a stone fireplace and gas logs, as well as a HDTV. The kitchen is fully equipped and can accommodate six people. On the main floor, there are two queen bedrooms. Each bedroom comes with an HDTV, a full bathroom and a tub/shower combination. You will find the loft-style master suite upstairs with a king size bed and HD Smart TV. There is a desk to work quietly and a bathroom with a shower. There is a game room and a den in the lower level. The den is a media room with comfortable, casual furniture and a large HDTV. It also has a DVD player. The den also features a queen-size sofa sleeper. The game room features an eight-foot slate table with a pingpong top. The family room has floor-to ceiling windows that overlook the wooded property and New River. The lower level has a sleeping area with two twin beds, a bathroom and a shower. The main deck is partly covered but mostly open air. The deck has Adirondack chairs, gliders, and a gas barbecue. The lower deck is covered and has a swing and hot tub. Decks and porches have privacy from the wooded surroundings. You can also see New River flowing through the mountains. New River Lure features central heating and air conditioning, a washer/dryer throughout, HD Smart TVs, digital cable programming, and WiFi internet. There are so many things to do in high country. There are many things to do at New River Lure on rainy days. SLEEPING Arrangements (sleeps 10 guests): Lower Level Sleeping Area (sleeps 2 twin beds) and Queen Bedroom #1.
