Kickback Creek offers a modern twist on a mountain cabin. This spacious two bedroom, two bath home offers upscale accommodations at a reasonable price for your next mountain retreat.
The spacious living area features a unique pallet wood wall and flat screen TV with cable reception, and colorful artwork from various local and regional artists. The comfy sofa and chairs offer plenty of places for curling up with a good book or watching a movie. There is also high speed WIFI for those that need to stay in touch with work or to plan your daily adventures.
Just off the living area is a newly renovated kitchen with stainless appliances including gas range, dishwasher, and refrigerator. There is even a K-cup coffee maker for those that like specialty coffees.
Down the hall, you will find the master suite with queen bed and spacious bath. The ceiling of the bedroom has pallet wood covering adding to the cabin ambiance. Relax and enjoy cable TV from the comfy bed. The private master bathroom features a spacious vanity and a shower tub combo.
The second bedroom features two twin beds – perfect for singles or kids. A flat screen TV with cable is also offered in this bedroom as well.
The hall bath is just a few short steps away from the second bedroom and offers a shower/tub combo as well.
Step outside and you will find a charcoal grill for grilling out, and there’s even a fire pit at the creek for making s’mores or roasting hot dogs.
Kickback Creek is just a short drive from downtown West Jefferson where you will find all kinds of food in our restaurants, quaint shops, art galleries and the famous Ashe County Cheese Store and factory when you can watch cheese be made. For the adventurous, try hiking, fishing or canoeing the New River. Or, spend the day at Tweetsie Railroad and Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, and go gem mining in Foscoe. Perhaps you want to shop at the historic Mast General Store and Annex in Valle Crucis. With so much fun and adventure in our cool Carolina Mountains, you’re sure to make memories during your stay at Kickback Creek.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The cabin was very clean when we arrived and the outdoor lights were welcoming when we arrived late at night. We were about 15 minutes from downtown West Jefferson but the paved road we were on was a dead end so very little traffic. The gravel drive is short and has a very gentle slope so is safe for all vehicles. The kitchen was well stocked with dinnerware and cooking utensils and pretty much everything you needed for cooking. It was very quiet at night with the sound of the creek very soothing if you sat on the front porch. The staff at Carolina Mountain Properties answered all my questions thoroughly on the phone, so there was nothing but pleasant surprises when we arrived!

This was a girls trip. The four of us go to women's conferences every years but covid got them all concealed so we decided to go to mountains for a little get away. The cabin gave us some much needed quiet time. We loved our stay at Kickback Creek. I loved being able to hear the creek from inside when the front door was open and setting on the porch. The only suggestion would be to store more towels in the bathrooms. Four women need a lot of towels. Other than that, no complaints.

An excellent getaway in a very good location. The owner did a great job refurbishing the cabin. Hanging out on the front porch listening to the mountain stream was a highlight. Comfortable accommodations with all the amenities you could want provided. I have already recommended to a couple friends.

Very nice house on a stream. Very pleasant sitting on front porch listening to the water and wind. Beds are very comfortable as is the rest of the furniture. Great master bath and bedroom. The kitchen is very well stocked and clean. When we got there the batteries in the door lock had gone out. A bit of a wait, it is a 15 minute drive from town, and fella showed up put new batteries in. We had no other issues. Would stay there again.
