Property Description
Welcome to Allamanda House! Upon entering the front steps of the house, you are greeted with old world charm and local elegance. The house is built with its original stonework, made from the local island coral stone. Feel free to help yourself to the fresh rosemary bush that grows there! Further to the right, there are steps leading to the covered car port.
To the left of the front steps there is a screened porch with sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean. From this porch there is direct access to a large private sun-deck and, beyond it, down steps and a short path, to the pool. All of the furniture on the screened porch has been carefully chosen and acquired locally from island craftsmen and artisans. Take advantage of the outdoor seating and dining table to enjoy your meals “al fresco” (there are three ceiling fans for your comfort).
There are three sets of French doors that open from the porch into the house. The first French door brings you to the grand living/dining room with beautiful ocean views. It is again designed to give you a true island feel, furnished and decorated with local art. The living room has three large windows that provide lots of natural light. There is a television with a DVD player. The dining room table comfortably seats 6 people, situated next to the large and fully equipped kitchen.
Past the living/dining room and through the second set of French doors, is the first of two bedrooms. The first bedroom features ocean views with a king size bed. The bed frame is one of a kind, built with original local pieces of drift wood. At the end of the room you will find a linen closet with a washer and dryer. Next to the linen closet is the bathroom, which is shared with the second bedroom.
The second bedroom has two twin beds, ambrosia bedding and bed frames made by local builders. This bedroom has a door that gives access to the back yard.
The master bedroom, has a double bed with an en-suite bathroom, is accessed from the front porch through the third set of French doors for ultimate privacy. (It does not connect internally to the rest of the house.) The bed frame is also made with collected driftwood. It features a canopy/mosquito net if you wish to open the doors during the night to enjoy the ocean breeze. This bedroom has beautiful views of the ocean, similar to that seen from the porch.
Every room in the house is equipped with its own AC unit and ceiling fan. There are hair dryers in each bathroom. Other amenities include WIFI, a smart TV with a DVD player with many classic DVD's to choose from but no satellite or cable TV. There are also lots of puzzles and games. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, dishwasher, Nespresso machine, toaster & blender. Outside you will find an outdoor shower, hidden under a lovely blanket of Allamanda flowers. There is also a gas grill here for your convenience, located by the door that opens into the kitchen.
For your convenience there are beach chairs, umbrellas & beach towels.
Allamanda is just 100 feet from a large and lovely pool. It is shared with several other homes, but in practice it is used only occasionally, and you will probably have it entirely to yourself most of the time. A five minute walk takes you to Sky Beach Club's excellent beachfront/poolside restaurant and bar, which has poolside service. Other nearby fine dining includes Tippys and 1648, both less than 10 minutes by car. The historic town of Governors Harbour, less then three miles away, has other restaurants, grocery stores, banks with ATMs, gift shops, liquor stores, dive shop, bakery, and restaurants. Buy fresh fish and lobster every afternoon from the fisherman on the village dock. And don’t miss Friday night fish fry, a weekly beach/street party that brings together tourists and locals for food, drink, and dancing in the street.

We had a wonderful week at Allamanda House. We loved the location and having access to the ocean and a pool. We found the location to be convenient to shopping, gas and restaurants. It’s about 1 hour from the N. Eleuthera airport and we rented a car at the airport for the week which worked out very well. The house was very comfortable and the three bedrooms were well appointed. Kitchen is laid out well and has everything you would need. We also loved the outdoor shower and having a covered car port. We were glad to have beach chairs and towels to take to the beach. Amazing views of the ocean and beautiful beach steps away. I would highly recommend this rental.

My husband and I rented alone on a spur of the moment. The house speaks to romantic trips alone. Masterbed (queen)draped in a mosquito nettingwas beautiful. A second bedroom had a king and another bathroom. There was never anyone in the pool at the same time. Candles everywhere. A double chaise lounge on the screened patio let us watch stars with wine at night. A little thatched hut at the beach with 2 lounge chairs. A private little stair case down to pool which was clean. We stopped there after beach everyday. Never saw anyone on the beach in front of the house. Th View was simply amazing. AC and Fridge/Freezer worked very well- cold. House had everything, including basic condiments and cleaning supples. A restaurant and pool bar are within walking distance. Misty was quick to answer emails but didnt come bug us, which was great. We had awesome snorkeling just down the beach in front of the capsized catamaran to the south. Little beach caves within walking distance were great to find and explore. Water was crystal clear. Town for supples and more restaurants was 10 minute drive. Neighborhood was secure. Locals at the bar were nice. House was clean. I was worried when I read Historic but we were delightfully surprised. Awesome house. And Eleuthera is absolutely gorgeous.

We loved staying at Casa Allamanda. If anything, the house is more charming than the pictures show. We appreciated the tile floors, the great air conditioning and as others have mentioned the wonderful screened in front porch with its fantastic view of the turquoise ocean in the distance. The pool was beautiful and large and while we were there, we were the only ones to use it. It’s a great beach with soft white sand and just a couple of minutes walk from the house. When there was a small problem with the wifi, someone came out and fixed it in quick order. It was a wonderfully relaxing stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Allamanda House. It is beautiful. The house itself is so charming with the stonework and the wrap around patio, the decor is minimal, clean (so clean!!) and beachy. It's perfectly landscaped with a view of the ocean. We had a 2 year old and an 8 year old with us so we loved the screened in patio. It was the perfect place for the kids to play and be close by while we were making meals or getting ready to head out for the day. We also enjoyed this space at night after the kids went to bed! You just walk out the back porch and down a few steps to the pool, and then a few more steps to the beach. The house even had beach blankets and chairs and umbrellas we could use. And lots of towels!! Right next door (a 3 min walk) there is a restaurant with a swim up bar, that serves lunch and dinner, fun for kids and adults!
The property manager was extremely helpful, she made a few recommendations for excursions that she claimed were the best, and they truly were. Anytime we needed something, a car seat, a playpen, she made arrangements for us and just made things appear!
I really loved every corner of this house. And the proximity to the pool and the beach. We hope to come back again and stay for longer!!

Family of four thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My favs were the (1) morning coffee on the porch hearing the Atlantic (2) the beach just a hop skip and a jump away was sublime. Soft sand and pinkish in color. Kids enjoyed the waves. I saw a few people during our stay but not many (3) my wife enjoyed the pool (4) the outdoor shower.
