The North Carolina Oyster Festival is one of Ocean Isle Beach’s most celebrated annual events, drawing visitors from across the region each fall. Held in October, this multi-day festival honors North Carolina’s rich coastal heritage and long-standing oyster industry. The event transforms the island into a lively gathering place filled with seafood lovers, families, and locals eager to enjoy the flavors and traditions of the Carolina coast.

At the heart of the festival are fresh local oysters served in a variety of styles, along with other coastal favorites from regional food vendors. Oyster shucking contests, live music, arts and crafts vendors, and family-friendly activities create an energetic atmosphere throughout the weekend. Educational exhibits and demonstrations also highlight the importance of oysters to the local ecosystem and economy, adding a meaningful connection to the area’s maritime roots.

A festival celebrating everything Oyster as Ocean Isle Beach becomes a festival wonderland offering a variety of foods, live music, arts & crafts, and fun for the entire family. The North Carolina Oyster Festival is your destination for fun in the sun! Activities and musical performances at Town Center Park in Ocean Isle Beach. The festival kicks off Friday evening with live music starting at 6.  The famous oyster shucking contest will be held on Saturday and there will be plenty of oyster dishes to sample, as well as, cuisine of all types. Bring a chair to sit back, relax, and enjoy the live music.

Beyond the food and entertainment, the North Carolina Oyster Festival showcases the strong sense of community that defines Ocean Isle Beach. It’s a time when residents and visitors come together to celebrate coastal culture, support local businesses, and enjoy the island at its most vibrant.
