Loggerhead Run Bike Path

Loggerhead Run Bike Path | Scenic Trails in Cape San Blas

Loggerhead Run Bike Path is a paved 8.7 miles long, multi-use path that stretches along the cape, perfect for walking, biking, and jogging. It offers scenic views of dunes and nearby waterways while providing a safe, relaxing way to explore the peninsula without driving.

The trail reflects the area’s strong focus on conservation and environmental awareness. Along the route, visitors may spot coastal wildlife and learn more about the local ecosystem through interpretive signage that highlights the unique habitats of Florida’s Forgotten Coast.

Named for the area’s sea turtles, Loggerhead Run Bike Path curves along St. Joseph’s Bay on the peninsula of Cape San Blas in northwestern Florida. On the trail’s northern end, St. Joseph Peninsula State Park offers opportunities to snorkel, swim, fish, and enjoy its white sandy beaches. There are also natural areas well-suited for bird watching and wildlife viewing. Salinas Park, on the trail’s southern end, offers a boardwalk, picnic area, and restrooms.

Trail end points are St. Joseph Peninsula State Park and Salinas Park. Along the route, visitors may spot coastal wildlife and learn more about the local ecosystem through interpretive signage that highlights the unique habitats of Florida’s Forgotten Coast.

Access the north end of the trail at St. Joseph Peninsula State Park (8899 Cape San Blas Road) and the south end of the trail at Salinas Park (240 Cape San Blas Road). This bike path is a 8.7 mile long, paved path that courses through forests and right next to the beach! Ideal for those looking to explore nature while riding through one of the most unique ecosystems in Florida.
