This elegantly appointed secret suite is located right in the heart of Key West's Old Town Historic Seaport. Tucked away down a little lane, and uniquely situated on the 2nd level with a large 450 square foot deck, guests enjoy additional privacy as well as a "bird's eye" view. Newly designed and renovated by a talented group of seafaring artistic craftsmen this turn-of-the-century abode is styled to satisfy the guest with discriminating taste.
The beautiful interior is completely new. Original pine walls have been painted in soft hue tones reminiscent of the sea and the sunrise. The living room and hallway floors are planked with an exotic Brazilian tiger wood floor, and the kitchen floor is tiled with travertine marble. Counter tops are done with black granite. The living room has a classic nail head all leather sofa and love seat, and carved wood tables. Original seafaring and sportsman art work create the feeling of a "Captain’s Private Quarters".
All rooms are decorated with upscale furnishings. The 'Captain’s bedroom' has an iron frame king sized bed on one side and a sitting area for reading on the other. The 'guest bedroom' has a queen sized bed and dressed with a more feminine touch. Both bedrooms area carpeted with a soft Berber.
The open living room and kitchen are made open and joined with a large black granite counter top. From the living room and kitchen, French doors open to a large 800 square foot deck with a lovely wicker table and chairs. The deck creates a spacious indoor / outdoor living room area. The outdoor deck joining the living room is covered with a fanciful awning to protect from the elements and to set the stage for outdoor dining. The remaining of the deck is left open to the sky for sun worshiping and stargazing and is set with lounge chairs. From the private deck take the stairs down to the pool deck area for a swim.
The thoughtful design and layout of the suite lends itself perfectly for versatile use. Situated next door to our Historic Seaport Estate, this property can be rented together with the estate to create a private abode. When rented alone, there is plenty of privacy and it is well suited for honeymoon and anniversary couples, a single who wants a private luxury accommodation, or a group of four friends or family members that want privacy just steps away from the seaport, and a 2 minute walk to Duval Street. For Yacht Race Week and Fantasy Fest you couldn't ask for a more ideal location.
This home is offered as an exclusive vacation rental in the most requested location in Key West. The property will not tolerate smoking inside. Only well behaved children are welcome. This property is not 'child-proof'. We do not accept guests under 25 years of age unless accompanied by a family group or guardian. The suite sleeps 4 comfortably.
