Property Information
Some years ago an entrepreneurial couple visited Key West from their Northern hometown, Cape May, New Jersey, another well loved artisan Victorian Village. With a refined appreciation of the resort lifestyle set amidst authentic 19th Century historic architecture, they fell madly in love with the southernmost island and set out to find their ideal vacation home in the sun.
If you are anything like them (or me) you will truly appreciate this unique Old Town Key West find with beautiful resort amenities. The owners wanted to be located right in the heart of Old Town Key West so they could walk out their door and soak up the turn-of-the-century island charm. They required an attractive interior offering plenty of privacy for visiting guests as well as a den / office area to remotely tend to their Cape May business from Key West. The outdoors needed to provide the quintessential resort island swimming pool with lush tropical gardens, and while they wanted to be able to easily walk to Duval Street and the Key West Historic Seaport they also required an off-street parking space – a rarity in this neighborhood. This property “fit the bill” and became their ‘suite home Key West’, and now you are invited to enjoy it as they do!
An uncommon layout of this pretty tri-level two bedroom two bath condominium is at once fun, spacious, and comfortable. Designed in the “upside down” style, the living room, dining area, full kitchen and powder room (half-bath) are on the 2nd floor, with plenty of high up windows to invite in the sun. There are two entrances to the home. You can enter the house directly to the 2nd floor from an exterior stair case that leads to the living room and kitchen, and you can also enter from the ground floor.
The ground floor entrance leads to the spacious den (with sleeper sofa). To the back of this floor is the master bedroom (with queen size bed) and full bathroom. This ground floor space makes the perfect private set-up for an office space in case you need to write or work remotely while in Key West. An interior stair case joins this downstairs space with the 2nd floor.
The third floor is another story altogether and my favorite room in this property. It is a fun and spacious light filled bedroom (with 2 twin beds), and bespeaks of Key West’s creative spaces. Reached by a custom blond wooden spiral stair case from the 2nd floor living room, this wonderful bedroom has the feel of a playful secret hideaway. Perched up above in the tree tops with a ‘birds-eye’ down-view to the living room, dormered skylight- windows fill the bedroom with light. A private shower next to the bedroom closet is a great addition so you can take that nice hot shower after a day on the island and cozy into bed.
When you’re ready to awaken and seek out some pool time, the 2nd floor entrance leads you outside down the stairs to the ground where a meandering path winds you through the lush garden and to the resort style pool. The gardens are perfectly maintained and in my experience the pool rarely has more than a few visitors at a time.
This is a privately owned town home with all the amenities required of a seasonal Key West rental and is ideal for a couple, a small family, or a professional who is seeking a space to live and work for a month or more. The interior of this home was completely redone in the fall of 2007 with all new carpet, tile, paint and furniture. New furnishings throughout this home were chosen for the owner’s love of beautiful contemporary island style wicker and luscious tropical prints.
This property is located in an historic Key West building that was converted to become a private condominium complex in the Heart of Old Town. It is most definitely not suitable for staging loud parties. Only well behaved children are welcome. This property is not "child-proof". We do not accept guests less than 25 years of age unless accompanied by a family group or guardian.
Amenities: Path and wooden walk way meander through tropical landscaping to resort style tropical garden and pool setting with large sun and dining deck. Fully equipped kitchen, central A/C, washer / dryer, color cable TV, C/D player and stereo. Linens and towels are provided.
Parking: Private off-street parking for one car only. Enjoy walking the neighborhood or biking to downtown – the streets are flat – there are no hills in Key West. You'll see more that way.

1st Floor: Master bedroom - 1 queen bed; Den - 1 queen sleeper sofa.
3rd Floor: 2nd bedroom: 2 twin beds (can be pushed together to make a king.)
Activities: Great restaurants within a less than a minute walk; Mangia Mangia, Café Sole, Michael’s are right here. Five Brothers is right out the door for morning coffee con leche. Walk to shopping, restaurants, night life, museums, sailing, boating, snorkeling, diving, beach, theater, and family activities. Everything is within walking or biking distance. Leave your car at home.
Area: Ideal Heart of Old Town Key West location. Just a few minute walk to the Historic Seaport and Duval Street shopping. Excellent restaurants within this renovated historic neighborhood. Close to beaches, all Old Town features including Mallory Square sunset celebration, night life, and outdoor water activities including sailing, diving, snorkeling, beaching.
