If you're looking for a nicely styled updated charming Key West retreat for a month or more, be sure to consider our Gingerbread Cottage Flat. Newly renovated in November of 2004 this property is just right for a couple or single (with extra sleeping in case gests come to visit). We love essence of this first floor flat. It has been beautifully painted with muted greens, violets, and yellows to create a light and airy feel and highlight the extra high ceilings and arched entrance ways. Furnishings are stylish and tropical with a combination of wood, bamboo, wicker and interesting decorator touches throughout.
This flat encompasses the entire first floor of a Classic Revival 2-story shotgun house and has two entrances. The spacious front porch entrance opens to a beautiful long tall wooden hall that runs from the front door to the back of the cottage. This wide hallway is a unique characteristic of the shotgun island cottage. Newly tiled floors and beautifully painted walls 12 Foot arched ceiling passages make the space feel even more open and spacious.
If you plan to work remotely or need computer access this property also includes on-line Internet access. The living room includes a nice size wooden table than can double as a desk. There is also a queen sleeper sofa for extra sleeping.
The pretty bedroom located off the hall towards the front of the house offers a king size bed and full closet. The bathroom is cozy but pretty and has a standing shower with folding glass doors and a freestanding sink. For cooking the spacious galley kitchen offers ample counter and cabinet space, a gas stove top, full size refrigerator, and large microwave oven.
Double sets of French doors on the back of the house span across the width of the living room and open to the wooden deck and spacious deep back yard. There is a nice size table and chairs for dining. A washer and dryer conveniently situated off the deck. Outside in front the charming entrance is complete with a white picket fence and is nicely landscaped with native and flowering plants.

This property is offered as an exclusive vacation rental and is conveniently situated in the Casa Marina area of Old Town Key West. It is an easy stroll to the beach and the south side of Upper Duval St. The property will not tolerate smoking inside. Only well behaved children are welcome. This property is not "child-proof". We do not accept guests under 25 years of age unless accompanied by a family group or guardian.
