We rent truly outstanding mountain chalets near Murphy, NC. Each privately-owned chalet in our rental inventory is a bit unique. Each is perched upon a pristine and peaceful wooded setting. Every Sandy Gap Mountain Rental chalet is only a short, scenic drive to several of America's most spectacular outdoor recreational areas.
Nature lovers enjoy tranquil evenings in the secluded privacy of your own chalet - awakening refreshed and renewed by our good mountain air, ready to enjoy day trips to nearby state and national parklands. Others waken to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and set out to visit one of our many scenic rivers for unsurpassed canoeing, kayaking or white-water rafting experiences. Many of our guests head to nearby mountain lakes and streams for fishing. Some will choose play a relaxing round of golf. Almost everybody else goes shopping for locally handmade mountain crafts, or combs through the local stores and fleamarkets looking for antiques.
Your mountain chalet will sleep either 4 or 6 adults in luxurious comfort. All have fireplaces. A large loft bedroom overlooks the great room and has its own private bath. Each has spacious decks and large windows for enjoying all of nature's beauty at its very best. There are nearby mountain trails just waiting to be explored.
Each chalet is on a wooded lot ranging upwards from at least one acre. The setting will be secluded. Your view will vary depending on the specific chalet you select and the season of the year.

Rates for the Bird's Nest Inn:
Our prices start at $425.00 a week in off_season (Jan.-Mar)
$500.00 a week during some holiday periods (fall colors, 4th of July, Christmas, New Years.
We normally rent for $475.00 a week plus taxes.
Cleaning fees are included in weekly rate.
If we are not rented for the week, we will rent for a minimum of 3 days at $ 95.00 a day plus taxes & cleaning.

Bird's Nest Inn has a beautiful view, but is on a secluded 2 acre wooded lot. With a jacuzzi tub in the master loft suite, it is a perfect romantic getaway. Bird's Nest has another bedroom and bath on the first floor with 2 twin beds available for sleeping. A 10 foot deck with grill and patio furniture is where you will want to spend your time looking at the view or watching the birds and butterflies that gather here. The remote control fireplace in front of the satellite TV with VCR and movie titles included will further compliment your stay at Bird's Nest Inn. We provide everything you need, just bring food and clothing! Many things to do nearby-whitewater rafting, hiking, boating, fishing, golf, casino, swimming, horseback riding, flea markets and craft shops. Come see us!
Gobblers' Knob Lodge:
Just 2.5 hours' drive from Atlanta, Gobblers' Knob Lodge is located at the crest of Shuler Mountain near Ranger and Murphy, North Carolina. The back deck provides a spectacular vista of the Smoky Mountains. Here you'll find peaceful seclusion and close proximity to golf, fishing, whitewater rafting, shopping, state and national parks, and more. Newly constructed, Gobblers' Knob Lodge is a rustic chalet on the outside with luxurious accommodations on the inside.
Gobblers' Knob Lodge gets its name from the flock of wild turkeys that reside on the mountain. Bring your binoculars for observing wildlife from the deck, or from the covered porch. Don't forget your camera.
Gobblers' Knob Lodge sleeps 4 comfortably in its two bedrooms - each with its own spacious walk-in closet. You'll find a new, quilt-covered queen-size bed in the downstairs bedroom and a new, comfortable double bed in the loft. The loft bedroom also has its own full bath.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need for preparing meals. Washer and dryer provided. Groceries can be purchased at stores in and near Murphy.
A fieldstone fireplace provides a warm backdrop along with the convenience of gas logs. There is both satellite TV and a combined DVD - VCR. (You may want to bring your own favorite movies.)
Out on the deck you will find a new gas grill, outdoor table and chairs, plus Amish-crafted, red oak rocking chairs. Kick up your feet and enjoy the mountain air and tranquil vista.
