Center Hill Lake is a favorite for all out door and water sports enthusiast. The Center Hill Lake is located about 15 miles west of Sparta on Hwy 70. There are three state parks on Center Hill Lake, two of which are in White and adjoining counties, Rock Island State Park and Burgess Falls State Natural Area along with Edgar Evins State Park in Silver Point. With several popular access points just off Hwy 70, such
as Ragland Bottom Recreation Area, Johnson Chapel Recreation Area and Sligo Marina, it is easy for folks in Sparta and White County to enjoy the serene beauty of this wonderful lake.
The lake provides varied outdoor recreation opportunities for visitors. Because of the temperate climate and relatively long recreation season, visitors have numerous activities to choose from including fishing, hunting, camping, picnicking, boating, canoeing, hiking , and many others. |
