We are located in the northern part of Charles County Maryland on the world famous bass waters of the Potomac River at Pomonkey Creek. We have a 300 degree panorama of the area. The resident bald eagles are here every day of the year. This is prime waterfront with 1000 feet on the Potomac and 1000 feet on the creek. The cottage is a separate private home in gated waterfront compound complete with pier with two lifts, 24 foot observation tower, 600 foot elevated walkway over tidal pool and sunrise or sunset view.
First bedroom is large and doubles as a sitting room. Second bedroom has sliding glass door that opens onto tidal pool.

Actually, it reminded me of going to summer camp when I was a kid. There was canoeing, kayaking, fishing, exploring and of course, like any good camp, there were the camp counselors. That would be John and Carrie, the owners, who live next door to the cottage. Not only were they warm, welcoming and friendly, but their hospitality extended to an invitation to have what they like to refer to as "Happy Hour" with them on their sprawling deck next door. They are avid photographers, naturalists and star gazers, so the scope is always on the deck. This is great for looking at planets and especially spotting and tracking the many eagles, ospreys and unusual ducks that seem to be in endless supply here. If you're into nature and wildlife, this is your spot without a doubt!
My wife and stayed at this cottage for a long weekend. The cottage is gorgeous, hard wood floors, fireplace and all the amenities of home.
The cottage is right on the water, and there is a canoe and kayaks for your use. The owners live next door, and they attend to you like you are royalty. This husband and wife team do anything in their power to make your stay the best possible experience.
Don't pass up on this beautiful vacation away from home, without feeling like you are staying in a hotel. The scenery just outside your door includes deer, eagles, and the water is visible from almost every window.
