Close to Leland and Lake Leelanau, Kris's Getaway is charming, adorable, and cozy. Nestled in the meadow among woods and farmland that line Alpers Rd., this little house was originally built for Grandma and Grandpa to retire to when the son of the family took over the farm. Later, a talented interior decorator, Kris, created a lovely space she could retire to for short periods of time. This unique country cottage has 2 bedrooms and will sleep no more than 4 people. One bedroom has a queen bed, the other a twin bed. The couch in the living room makes up into a queen bed. The bathroom, though small, is tastefully decorated.. There are laundry facilities on site, a complete kitchen with a dishwasher and a large screened-in porch for lovely summer evenings. This screened-in porch has sides to let down should the evening become chilly. Lake Leelanau is about a miles walk down the road. Because you walk down a slight incline, the view of the lake all the way down the road is breath-taking, especially on an early summer morning. Public parks and launching sites on Lake Leelanau are nearby. No smoking. Linens, towels, and some paper products and soaps included.
