The Summit House is one of a few private homes in Mount Nebo State Park near Dardanelle, Arkansas. This 4,400' lodge-like-house is perched on the mountain's edge, 1700 feet above the Arkansas River Valley. It offers 60-mile views of the valley and Ozark Mountain Ranges.
The home is conveniently located just off I-40 Exit #81 at Russellville, and 120 miles south of Branson, Missouri.
Four charming bedrooms each have their own entrance onto a 62-foot deck overlooking the valley. The master suite is 20' x 27' -- with a canopy bed, a two-person jacuzzi, double vanities, and a shower. With the addition of day beds, trundles and futons, the home can sleep up to 30 persons. There are five bathrooms.
The fully furnished kitchen includes all cooking utensils, two refrigerators. There is a TV/VCR in each bedroom and in the living room a 52" TV/DVD/VCR with dish satellite, is also in the master suite. All linens are provided.
The 60' x 20' great room features a native stone fireplace. The 38' x 19' living room has a cathedral ceiling. The 20' x 24' game room offers a sofa bed, couch, bar, refrigerator, table and chairs, games and pool table. And the covered porch off the dining room has a gas grill. All these great home features make this an ideal location for family reunions, weddings, receptions, corporate retreats, church retreats, and club or social retreats.
The owner and acclaimed watercolor artist, Cynthia Schanink, teaches three- to four-day watercolor workshops, and hosts other nationally known artist's workshops on a regular basis. The mountain's scenery and views are an artist's dream, and will be yours too. For $250 per day I can bring watercolor supplies for 10 and give a private lesson for your group.
Enjoy the State Park amenities which include a swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, ball fields, a kid's playground, and 14 miles of hiking trails. Activities include mountain biking, rock climbing, horseshoes, and hang gliding (if you have a glider and a class 3 rating).
Mount Nebo was rated in the top ten resorts in the country in the early 1900's, and was known as "The Resort Above The Clouds".
Enjoy golf on John Daly's home course at the foot of the mountain. Also Gala Golf course and Chamberlyne Country Club in Danville 15 miles south on hwy 27, or visit any of the seven courses in Hot Springs Village -- 60 miles south on Hwy 7, which was voted one of the top ten scenic highways in the US.
Branson, Mo. is approximately 120 miles north on Hwy 7, which is an excellent day trip. The 34,000-acre Lake Dardanelle is at the foot of the mountain, and hosts bass tournaments annually.
Temperatures on the mountain are five to ten degrees cooler than in the valley; and we enjoy a pleasant breeze which makes this a great oasis in the summer months. Mt. Nebo has temperature inversions in the winter months and can be warmer than the valley.

The rates for renting The Summit House are ($350/night plus 10% tax $35.00) $385.00 with a two night minimum. Weekly rental is discounted rate of $1800 + $180.00 tax = $1980.00.

Property Activities
The State Park amenities are for any one to enjoy. Swimming pool, Tennis, basketball, horse shoes, play grounds, hiking trails and hang gliding.
"Restorative Yoga" studio in Russellville also teach a one hour class on Mt Nebo once a week (Wednesdays at 9 am) in the pavilion and will do that through the summer and fall until cold weather sets in. I also am starting "Restorative Retreats" where I can bring yoga classes, vegetarian meals,
