The Birdcage of Deadwood is a delightful resort hideaway and is one of the best kept secrets in Deadwood. It is located at the edge of Deadwood and sits at the base of a mountain overlooking the city. It is a beautiful walk (1/2 mile) away from downtown gambling, a short walk downhill to the trolley (1/4 mile) or for those wishing to use the local taxi service this is available as well. Birdcage of Deadwood is located only blocks from the Mt. Moriah cemetary, the final resting place of Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane!!
Birdcage's Master Suite on the upper level is a 3-room suite which includes a sitting area with a television and an additional room with a daybed. There are also 2 bedrooms w/ full sized beds and a full bath on this level with each of the bedrooms .
Birdcage's main level has a kitchen/dining/formal dining/family room and formal living room. It also has a bedroom with 2 single beds and a full bath. Both decks are accessible from this level.
The lower level/walkout has a patio, 2 queen bed suite with a private double sink bath. The game room is also located on this level as well as the garage.
The Birdcage of Deadwood is fully furnished with coffee always available with many unexpected basics(popcorn, canned goods, cereals, pancake mix, etc.), just pack your suitcase, order in pizza to be delivered , and venture to the grocery store later. The kitchen also boasts a new professional gas stove and a choice of dining either in the kitchen or the formal dining room. It is set in a private setting so just sit and relax on the front deck and enjoy the city lights of Deadwood or relax in the very private back patio/yard.
Birdcage's game room will be a hit for kids of all ages and is complete with a television, pool table, juke box, pinball, and darts. Plus enough board games, puzzles, & videos to keep anyone too busy to leave this delightful resort. The newest addition to the Birdcage is an exercise room!
