Spring & Summer
Mushroom Hunting This is mushroom heaven for Moral hunting. The national annual Mushroom Festival is held in Boyne City, MI (15 minutes away), in mid May. You can enjoy some of the best hunting right from the doorsteps of our vacation homes. We have complete maps for our guests.
Golfing Northwest Michigan is the #2 region in the U.S. for concentrated golf quality. You can golf over 30 courses within a 30-mile radius of our homes. Golfers of all Handicaps can enjoy the many courses within the area from inexpensive 9-hole courses to the many premier courses in the area. Please call for a complete listing.
Fishing, Boating and Canoeing Public fishing sites make it easy to cast for trout, walleye, salmon and steelhead. Boaters will enjoy exploring some of them most beautiful lakes that Michigan can offer. There is a 38 mile Inland waterway near by that boaters cannot miss a trip on. Many streams in the area make canoeing a very enjoyable way to spend some of your vacation time. Jet skis, fishing boats and pontoon boat rentals are available nearby. Windsurfing on many of the area lakes is made possible with the help of the gentle Northern Michigan breezes.
Swimming Enjoy a refreshing swim in Lake Michigan, Lake Charlevoix, Crooked Lake or Walloon Lake, which is only 5 minutes away from our homes. State parks are a short drive away that can be enjoyed by the entire family.
Biking If you like to bike, our area offers miles and miles of terrain to enjoy—from paved bike paths to country roads to designated trails.
Shopping Over 100 unique shops, galleries, and boutiques can be enjoyed in the area. Petoskey's famous gaslight district is considered the shopping mecca of Northern Michigan. Other downtown areas of Harbor Springs, Boyne City, and Charlevoix also offer great shopping. The Bay Harbor Marina District offers many new and unique upscale shops for everyone's shopping enjoyment.
Mackinac Island is less than an hour drive away from our homes. This is a must for anyone looking for a very unique vacation. Anyway you measure it, Mackinac Island is one of the great tourist attractions of the western world. Its landmark Grand Hotel has been the subject of both movies and song, and its quaint ban on automobiles reinforces the strong sense of history that dominates the luscious landscape.
Restaurants If you enjoy going out to eat, our area offers a wide variety from the many fast food choices, casual or fine gourmet to quaint country inns. Whatever your choice is you, can enjoy them within our area. Complete listings available.
Fall Fall color tours in our area are considered to be the finest Michigan has to offer. The famous Tunnel of Trees tour is a must for all to see. Complete map available to guests. Fall golfing can be some of the most enjoyable of the year with less crowds to deal with and some of the most beautiful views to enjoy while you golf. Fall vacations can be the most relaxing of the year.
Winter This is the Midwest's favorite winter destination.
Downhill Skiing, Boyne Mountain (10 minutes away), Boyne Highlands, and Nubs Nob resorts offer over 100 downhill runs with 30 lifts. Snowboarding also available at these sites. We have an average of 12 feet of natural snow a year, plus all the ski areas offer advanced snowmaking equipment. The ski season can last from Thanksgiving to Easter.
Cross-country skiing. We have exceptional trails within our area. Over 350 kilometers of trails can be enjoyed from Nordic routes to groomed trails. Sledding hills are available for the entire family to enjoy.
Ice Skating areas can also be enjoyed nearby.
For all of you Ice Fishing enthusiasts we have manly ideal locations with minutes.
Snowmobiling This is the heart of northwest Michigan's snowbelt. Hundreds of miles of groomed trails and seasonal roads can be enjoyed from your doorstep. For a unique snowmobiling experience, our area must be visited. Snowmobile rentals are available.
Seasonal recreational amenities include clubhouse (available for private rentals) with in-ground heated pool and bathrooms with showers.
Common grounds area offer basketball and sand volleyball courts, children's playground, horseshoe pits and charcoal grills. Sparkling Spring-fed, 3-acre lake with sandy beach. It is stocked with fish, which makes fishing great for children. The lake area is ideal for swimming, fishing, and has picnic tables and park swings. This enables everyone to enjoy the relaxing views of the area. There is also a large firepit by the beach area that can be enjoyed by all. This is an ideal vacation spot for families and large groups. Family reunions welcome. We can accommodate groups of up to 100. Please contact us for rates and availability.
