When the Glaciers melted a long time ago they left a unique feature of Nature - SAND DUNES which are reported as the only SAND DUNES on FRESH WATER in the World.

Many years ago the noted author Ernest Hemingway discovered the silvery, squeaky, smooth SAND DUNES along the SUNSET side (Western) SHORELINE of the State of MICHIGAN. MONEY Magazine's Cover (April '01 issue) featured the "Top 12 Vacation Spots" of the Northern Hemisphere (from Canada to the Caribbean), Michigan's SHORELINE DUNES were listed as 1 of the 12!

Adjacent to the unique SUGAR SAND DUNE beach SHORELINE you will find Michigan's noted "whispering" Pine trees, many State Parks and rivers (Muskegon and White Rivers) and the inland DUCK and WHITE LAKES which connect with LAKE MICHGAN affording access and recreation of all kinds from ice fishing and boating in the Winter to canoeing,kayaking and of course swimming in the Summer.
