Completely renovated and newly furnished in May 2005, this island court-style property has all the creature comforts you could want and still enjoy the ambiance of staying in an historic property.
A spacious front porch entrance opens to a beautiful long tall wooden hallway that runs from the front door to the back of the house. This wide hallway space creates a room in-and-of-itself and is a unique characteristic of the "shotgun" island home. Encompassing the entire first floor of a Classic Revival 2-story wooden home, this spacious new unit provides approximately 1400 square feet of interior living space and offers 2 generous sized bedrooms, a den with sleeper sofa, 2 designer bathrooms, and a gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. The spacious open living room—dining area has new hardwood floors. A combination of hardwood and muted tile are utilized throughout the rest of the elegant interior.
Furnishings are upscale and include a French Provincial mahogany four poster bed in the master bedroom and gorgeous custom padded upholstered headboard in the second bedroom. Beds in each bedroom are queen size. Living room furnishings include a deep comfy sectional sofa and designer leather chairs that wrap you in warmth, luxury, and charm. The den has a queen sleeper sofa to offer an extra bed if you need it. An eclectic display of tasteful artwork including carved leather wall hangings and vintage posters adorn the walls.
If you plan to work remotely or need on-line computer access this property also includes high speed internet access. The dining room area includes a nice size slate tile table than can double as a desk if you need to spread out your work.
New windows all around the house stream in the sunshine. On a Key West morning enjoy pouring a cup of Cuban coffee and swing open the full size folding French doors that lead from the dining area to the spacious back deck with nice sized private swimming pool and trickling water fall. The setting is also perfect for indoor - outdoor entertaining between the pool deck and kitchen dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped.
A variety of tropical plants and flowers including a revered key lime tree, mango, and avocado tree adorn the yard. Depending on the time of your you are here you can indulge in these spectacular island tastes right from the trees. The exterior of the property is completely surrounded with a quintessential white picket fence that bespeaks special Key West charm in our historic neighborhoods. In addition to the back yard there are two landscaped side yards.
The layout of this home is best suited for four people maximum but can accommodate up to six with the sleeper sofa. The home is not suitable for staging loud gatherings. Children are welcome only if well behaved. This is a private home with nice furnishings - so only conscientious parents are welcome. The house is not child-proof. There is no smoking permitted in the home.
