The master bedroom has one queen-size bed, dresser, phone, alarm clock, comfy chair with ottoman, large walk-in closet, window overlooking the Bay, of course, and a private bathroom.  Perfect for you honeymooners!  The spacious loft with a beautiful view of the Bay has one double-size bed, dresser, and a full size couch.  The lower level has a bedroom just off of the living room with one double-size bed, two twin-size beds, which can also serve as a king size bed, a dresser, lamp, window looking out to the front yard and windows looking out to the creek, and a spacious closet.  A full bathroom with a tub/shower combo, laundry room with washer and dryer and a large walk through panty with additional cupboards and counter space is also located on the main floor.  Lots of room for your large group, but also a romantic setting for just the two of you!  We provide most everything for you at the Vista so there's no need to worry about leaving anything behind.  Included:  Bedding, linens, bath towels and dish towels, tissues, paper towel, toilet tissue, laundry soap and fabric softener, dish soap, dishwasher soap.

The home is 1600 square feet and has 100 feet of frontage on the lake.  The lot is a little over an acre.  There is a f ire pit and picnic table along the lake and, please feel free to take the additional loungers and cocktail tables from the porch to use alongside the lake.  You can't imagine a more breathtaking view. Throw some wood on your campfire and roast some marshmallows while you are watching the night sky and listening to the waves lap up on the shore. Don't be surprised if some of our area ducks visit you while you're sitting by the lake.  Since mother nature changes her mind quite often in the U.P., the shoreline can be rocky or sandy depending on her mood!.  If you'd like a larger beach area for the children to play, Sand Point Beach is just down the shoreline a bit (2 minutes by car).  As long as you're there, you can take a walk on the board walk overlooking the Bog.  The children will love seeing all the wildlife along the walk.

Bring your bikes or rent one from Bike rentals at the Ferry Dock.  The Vista is  close enough to ride your bike 1 mile to the Dairy Queen and enjoy your all-time favorite or stop in at the Falling Rock Cafe and Bookstore for a hand dipped ice cream and then enjoy it in our beautiful Munising park.  Don't miss Tuesdays' Music in the Park!

Unique to the Vista is the two car attached garage.  A spacious place to park your vehicles or store the snowmobiles!

Swimming is both beautiful and refreshing in our own Lake Superior.  You can swim on the premises or take a very short drive to big, beautiful sandy beaches!

Along the West side of the Vista, there is a pretty little creek that runs into Lake Superior.  Feel free to pick the wild raspberries and blackberries that grow alongside the creek.  There's enough to make a pie!  If you're interested in Strawberry and Blueberry picking, we know some great spots!

The front yard at Vista is so large and spacious, there is enough room for the kids to play baseball, kickball and tag, and at night they can run around and catch fireflies!

We have some reading material (books and magazines) for adults and kids, and a few games such as cards, trivial pursuit, cribbage, etc. on hand in the event of a rainy day or for your evening family activities!

You can rent a pontoon and/or kayak from across the Bay and putter around Munising Bay, go take pictures of the restored light house on Grand Island, or do a little fishing.  The Vista is a great place to start with your kayak and paddle along the shore to the Pictured Rocks and explore the caves and other works of Mother Nature!

If you've always wanted to try big lake fishing, b ook a fishing charter and don't let that big one get away.  If you'd like to bring your own boat for fishing and touring, there is boat access nearby.   Canoes and boats can be rented in AuTrain, just a 15 minute drive, for use on AuTrain Lake or a paddle down the AuTrain River to Lake Superior.  The Autrain River is a perfect river for your whole family to enjoy canoeing.  It's a slow moving river with places to stop along to have a picnic.  You can start at one spot and leave your canoe at another!  If you're an advanced canoer and want more of a challenge, then the Indian River is for you.  Let us know of your interest and we can direct you.

One of the great features of the Vista besides the Grand Views, sauna and everything else we've already mentioned, is the great location to all the area activities!  Visit the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and take a walk on some of the wide variety of hiking trails, or view the National Lakeshore on the Pictured Rocks Boat Cruise, the Shipwreck Tour, or the Skylane Air Tour. Visit the Interpretive Center on Washington Street (also called Sand Point Road, next to Vista) and learn about the area's history and take the short walk to beautiful Munising Falls, an enjoyable stroll through a little valley. There are several area waterfalls to visit in the area with maps available at the Visitor Center at the blinking light in Munising.  Also within walking distance of the Vista is our Alger County Historical Society.  This is located on Washington Street as well.  There you can learn about our area heritage and take a look in the gift shop.  There is a ferry to Grand Island where you can hike or tour by bike or bus. There are several area lighthouses with AuSable Lighthouse open for tours. These lights look especially lovely at night when they are lit. Fishermen will enjoy fishing in Lake Superior or the many lakes and streams of the Hiawatha National Forest where you will find hundreds of acres of public land for hiking, canoeing, hunting, photography, birding and ATV'ing. The Kewadin Casino is in Christmas, just 5 miles West of the Vista.  You will also find unique gift shops and restaurants in Munising.

There is a water falls within walking distance of the Vista, and many more just minutes away!  For you golfers, Pictures Rocks Gulf and Country Club is only 2 miles East of the Vista.  Just take a left out of the driveway and two miles later...you're there.  They also have a wonderful restaurant with a Friday night fish fry!  If you're like us and like a quicker game of golf, try the mini putt putt just 3 miles away!

Winter brings lots of snow to Alger County and the Vista Grand Lodge is only 1 mile from hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails.  You can ride from the door of the Vista to get to your trail!  There are several cross-country ski trails nearby (within 1 miles of Vista) and one with a lighted trail in Christmas. Go dog sledding or take a walk through the woods on some showshoes. Snowmobile rentals in Munising .

The Vista Grand Lodge will be your home away from home while on vacation with a spectacular view of the Lake from all the main living areas and bedrooms. The front and back porch that run the length of the home allows you to enjoy the summer breezes or the fall colors with family and friends.  When you vacation at the Vista Grand Lodge in our beautiful Upper Peninsula, not only do you get to take a piece of God's Country home with you...you get to be a Yooper for awhile!
